[After the mystery and isolation of their last destination, the Marsiva seems determined to head to brighter, busier territory. After a long journey through remote, nebula-painted space, speeding along at a brisk pace for the Host ship, the Marsiva brings her Fleet to a sudden and prominent point of traffic.

It seems that the Fleet has happened upon some sort of vacation destination! Maybe Atroma thinks that the passengers deserve some rest and relaxation... or just wants to distract them with something huge and shiny.

Welcome to Hotel Corona! Feel free to enjoy yourselves and enjoy the sites! If a hotel resort isn't your thing, you can head on over to the nearby planet and explore it's icy wonders.

That it is.

[Eugene knows he can idle through a two-layered conversation. Compressing things down, dragging to the surface the things he can let go unsaid for months, years - that's never been his strength in any kind of relationship. Felix is watching him, and he's watching Felix right back, and they both have plenty of small talk to cruise through.

Maybe he would even want to keep doing it, if the thought of months, years, hadn't been itching at him lately. But it has been, prickling and maddening as the occasional roil of paresthesias through bones and tendons that haven't been a part of him for years. He curls his fist against his thigh the exact same way he does when that sensation twists through a long-severed nerve, uncurls it deliberately, enough of a refocusing to remember at least one thing that isn't completely superficial bullshit.]

Anyway, sorry for running you down back there. Are you okay?

He smiles, a completely done-for smile, toothy and enthusiastic. "Okay... then let's remind each other. Is it rude where you're from to kiss a girl on the hand in public?"

"I'm on shift." Maglor objects. "I need to look after the children."

He's not actually getting up though.

And her cheeks go instantly pink.

"No. It's perfectly acceptable, so long as the lady approves."

[She looks at him with concern before ducking her head and nodding which she shouldn't do because wow, dizzy. But she pushes through it and walks to the door. At this point it probably is safest not to phase. She pauses in the doorway, unsure what to say if anything.]

[She's not exactly sure for what before she steps into the hall and turns right and then after a moment switches to left.]

[Eugene eyes the bucket up, then reaches for one of the metallic spheres, to lift it and see if it's attached maybe. It isn't that he can tell - not by any kind of tether, at least - though that doesn't stop a wave of them from coming up with the one he lifts, rolling over his hand in a curious, massaging coil that brings to mind nothing so much as creative illustrative uses of tentacles. He gives a startled laugh, withdrawing his hand - or trying to, anyway. The bucket has other ideas.

The laughter dies down pretty quickly then.]

Oh, geez- [Another try, and the coil hooks in around his wrist, giving a persuasive knead that he really tries not to think about as he braces his free hand on the rim of the container in an attempt at leverage.] Little help here?

"Same where I'm from," he says with a thoughtful look. "If said lady were you, would you approve?"

[ That suits her, though Cara isn't one to dwell on foreplay. So she'll break the kiss, leaning back and eyeing Natasha speculatively. ]

"Depends on the gentleman." She's attempting coy flirtation, but she's not quite pulling off the first part, since she keeps blushing.

He can barely control his smile. "Oh, let's just... I don't know... randomly say it's me. What would you say?"

[More like Apollo is a fussy Mom test. He frowns, disbelieving.]

Really. During all the fantastical fights, you just magically scrape by without as much as a scratch half the time?

[He exhales slowly. Praise be to Allah, he almost thought he was in trouble.]

Of course I would. You're family, no matter how old - or young? - you are.

You've got me, don't you? Last I checked, I counted as a person.

A couple of centuries? That's pretty young, by most people's accounts. [He tilts his head thoughtfully.]

I'm not connected to most of these cultures, but I know what it's like to have one be erased or maligned by the world surrounding it. [He won't get into it here. Not with a stranger who may not be familiar with Earth's customs.] There's value in everything, if you look hard enough.

[ She stares at him, for once, a loss for words. ]

Neither am I. [But she spent a lot of time fighting against the way things were all her life at home and in the prison and things only got worse. Her nature is still to be real. To fight. To stand against impossible odds when they need to be stood against. But she was run down and tired when she got here and the break has been healing. Hope is...the most important and dangerous thing she has.]

Hope is probably going to be the thing that saves or destroys me.

Anyway, I would have come over if I'd known you'd lost someone.

Lots of drama for the audience? [She isn't placing the dragon. She'd been wrapped up in fall out from Winn being attacked and taking care of him while he went through the brunt of the trauma. Her normal network stalking had been greatly reduced. Some pretty important things were missed.]

[Allen gives a little shrug. Yeah. There was lots of drama. But it wasn't his drama, so he's less keen to share. So he'll keep it simple.]

...Well, I was thinking more that even if she had an award winning actress, she'd call the whole thing stupid and want to set it on fire.

He grins at her. "What about if a gentleman kissed a lady on the cheek? Is that permissible?"
