[Bigby's room is usually closed up with words painted on the hatch to make it clear. Do Not Open.

Bigby himself isn't actually sleeping on the Bloodsport. He still comes back on a regular basis to eat, stock up more meat in the cold storage and generally investigate the state of the ship.

He's sleeping over on the Iskaulit when they're in space. And once the Fleet reaches a planet, he does his usual thing and disappears off, only returning to freeze choice bits of meat.

It's just that now he does all these things without his idiot vampire shadowing him.]

[Your captain can be found in the cargo bay, going through what's left of Simon's notes and trying to make sure the displaced samples left here (a) have a safe place to be stored and (b) isn't toxic or something. It's something she should have done a while ago, but she was kind of hoping they'd get a new doctor augment on board some time soon.

She's unimpressed. And muttering to herself.] How do they even do that?

[Or you can catch her at other times in the month going through charts etc. I'm here all month.]

[Nami's noted the fact he doesn't really sleep here anymore. It's his business, and if he's still adjusting to Sascha no longer being here, she can't really blame him.

So it's a casual question she offers at one of those occasional points they cross paths in the same place.]

Doing okay?

[She doesn't look much like she's paying attention to the answer, but she is. She figures Bigby wouldn't be keen on being mothered, let's face it.]

[COUGH.

Sam is standing in the doorway with his arms crossed, eyebrow raised.]

You're not contaminating the whole ship with some creepy alien sample or something, are you?

[Seriously I've been here for five seconds and you're already poking at weird stuff.

Do we know if Simon was a mad scientist in his spare time or...?]

[He doesn't tolerate mothering. Friendly questions are okay though.]

[Normally he'd have more to say, but he doesn't have the heart.]

... I don't like loss. Not natural for us.

[While they're at the resort this month Apollo's been juggling a dozen jobs--but he actually comes back to the ship every day! He still sleeps there, and right now, anyone can catch him on the sad lone treadmill.

Today tho, as he walks, he seems to be..........nodding off? Yep, he is definitely nodding off. Someone wake your lawyer up before he falls on his face on the treadmill.]

[...how about Nami breaks his fall with a hand planted indelicately in his face as he starts to slide. Will that work? V. delicate, v. caring.]

Maybe you should try sleeping somewhere more comfortable.

[SUCH GENTLE, VERY EFFECTIVE. Apollo snaps awake with a startled yelp, grabbing the sides of the treadmill for balance]

--GAH! I wasn't sleeping, I was. . .meditating? Sure, yes.

If I do, you'll be the first person to know about it. [She looks up to poke her tongue out at him and then goes right back to poking at weird alien flora.]

None of it was sealed or anything, so I figure we're all good. I'm just trying to work out if they're worth anything medically or Simon just thought they looked pretty. Know anything about plants?

[If they don't grow fruit, they're not her forte.]

It might not necessarily be the last time you see him.

[It's how she deals with it; Nami is well acquainted with loss. But in a place like this, it's more akin to her life back home in some ways more than others. They leave friends behind on islands all the time-- they might see them again.]

[Bigby's glance at her suggests exactly what he thinks about that.]

All I can say is I'm glad he's not here with the new guy.

Pretty sure the feeling's mutual on that score.

[Neutrally. Oh, she's not blind.]

This must be some new version of meditating I haven't heard of before. [Dryly. But at least she takes her hand back.] Then meditating some place you won't hurt yourself is probably a better idea.

How many jobs do you have right now?

[Bigby grunts in agreement and offers nothing more on that front.]

I'm heading planetside when I have the chance again. Anything you want stocked up in the kitchen?

[She smiles wryly.] Not unless you find some kind of fruit that grows in that climate. I'm good. Thanks, though.

[Curious, he's already peering over her shoulder at said alien flora.

... It's not very hard to peer over shorties, but you get the idea.]

I know a little. But uh... It's hard to keep track when it comes to endless space.

[He hums.]

I'll have a sniff about when I'm down there. You'd be surprised. If I find any fruit, I'll bring it up.

. . .multitasking meditating. Great for lawyers on the run. [A light snort and he rubs at his head.]

Five so far. . .six if I count the one I'm not being paid for. I didn't mind at first but in retrospect, I probably should have protested a bit more.

Why do you need so many!?

I don't necessarily need them, but I also don't like being broke. Lawyers aren't exactly TV material, you know. [Aside from the occasional ratings boost due to having Too Many Feelings with Clay, he doesn't do squat to attract attention.]

I'm going to cash in my pay and stock up on some things before we leave. Besides that. . .it feels weird not to work after such a long stretch of time.

You still get a weekly stipend from them. Between that and one or two jobs, that'd be enough to get by surely. [Maybe lawyers are just. IDK used to living the high life. But feeling weird not to work she gets.]

If you want a regular job, I can help with that. Provided you're not a klutz. But working like a maniac every time we touch down on planet is gonna burn you pretty fast.

[Pfft, THAT'S A GOOD ONE. Apollo practically lived off ramen and sleeping in the office.] True, but finding suits in space isn't common or cheap. I've got to keep up appearances somehow!

But anyway, floating through a void of space is what's burning me out. Before I came here, I had 300+ clients waiting on me. . .the break was nice, but now I'm just fidgety. [He tilts his head, curious.] What did you have in mind, though?

[Apollo, that's just sad.]

I run one of the bars on the Iskaulit. It's busy work and rowdy, so if you ever want to, y'know, space out the work earning to more reasonable times, look me up.

I'm pretty sure he kept notes in the med lab, but isn't it amazing how entire rooms mysteriously vanish if the ship decides we don't need them.

[Because if anything sings out that the Fleet isn't exactly what it says on the tin, it's mysteriously reformatting rooms at the blink of an eye that nobody notices :| sound familiar?]

Much appreciated. I'd tell you to watch out for the land sharks, but somehow I doubt that's a problem for you.
