Bigby himself isn't actually sleeping on the Bloodsport. He still comes back on a regular basis to eat, stock up more meat in the cold storage and generally investigate the state of the ship.
He's sleeping over on the Iskaulit when they're in space. And once the Fleet reaches a planet, he does his usual thing and disappears off, only returning to freeze choice bits of meat.
It's just that now he does all these things without his idiot vampire shadowing him.]

So it's a casual question she offers at one of those occasional points they cross paths in the same place.]
Doing okay?
[She doesn't look much like she's paying attention to the answer, but she is. She figures Bigby wouldn't be keen on being mothered, let's face it.]
no subject
Yep.
[Normally he'd have more to say, but he doesn't have the heart.]
... I don't like loss. Not natural for us.
no subject
[It's how she deals with it; Nami is well acquainted with loss. But in a place like this, it's more akin to her life back home in some ways more than others. They leave friends behind on islands all the time-- they might see them again.]

All I can say is I'm glad he's not here with the new guy.

She's unimpressed. And muttering to herself.] How do they even do that?
[Or you can catch her at other times in the month going through charts etc. I'm here all month.]

Sam is standing in the doorway with his arms crossed, eyebrow raised.]
You're not contaminating the whole ship with some creepy alien sample or something, are you?
[Seriously I've been here for five seconds and you're already poking at weird stuff.
Do we know if Simon was a mad scientist in his spare time or...?]
no subject
None of it was sealed or anything, so I figure we're all good. I'm just trying to work out if they're worth anything medically or Simon just thought they looked pretty. Know anything about plants?
[If they don't grow fruit, they're not her forte.]

... It's not very hard to peer over shorties, but you get the idea.]
I know a little. But uh... It's hard to keep track when it comes to endless space.

[Because if anything sings out that the Fleet isn't exactly what it says on the tin, it's mysteriously reformatting rooms at the blink of an eye that nobody notices :| sound familiar?]

Maybe you should try sleeping somewhere more comfortable.

[General Crew Broadcast] 11th Jan
Twice before in our history we've been attacked by another fleet, and it's possible we're about to be attacked again. I can't give you detail; it was before my time, too, and of those on the Bloodsport I've been here the longest. I arrived right after the last attack. So if you want further information I recommend checking the introductory files on your comms, or talking to someone like Allen, or Vash, or Crowley, people who've been here a long while.
An attack isn't definite, and hopefully isn't likely, but it's a possibility greater than zero, so I want to take precautions.
[And breathe. Let's list them off.]
Make sure you're at least passingly familiar with the mounted weapons on the Bloodsport.
Make sure you're personally armed. [She doubts if there is an attack that personal arms will come into it, but it's better to be paranoid, right?]
I don't want to ground anyone to the Bloodsport, but one of the pilots should be here at all times. So. Rey, come see me. [We'll work something out.]
If you've got breakables in your rooms, I recommend putting them somewhere safe or strapping them down.
If you've got any experience with this kind of trouble in space, or any further suggestions, let us know. [Because help I'm just a pirate from the Age of Sail :|| I'm used to attacks but not out here.]
[Pause, and then a little lighter:] I'm hoping this is just a waste of everyone's time, but I'd rather be prepared, okay?
((ooc:: This is the Intro document Nami is talking about, which has only minor detailing of the other fleet.
no subject
Nami? I would speak to you of these events.
no subject
Shoot. You're security, after all.

Then pray allow me to be blunt... If we are attacked, our best course of action should not be a ship fight, but rather a boarding party. I have no experience in these manner of battles, however, our ships are controlled by forces hostile to us, and cannot be trusted in danger. Anti-personnel combat is the safest course of action.

I don't have any useful augment. I'm staying here, where I can wear whatever skin I want or need to to defend myself.

I've been keeping an eye on communications... just in case anything tries to initiate contact. I'm not very used to the weapons on the Bloodsport, but I'm a quick learner.
no subject
That's a good idea.
...have you tried contacting them?
no subject
[You know he tries. Even if he fails sometimes. Shush.]
And not yet, no. Mostly worried I'll be alerting them to something if I do.
If they're dangerous, that might be a crappy decision.
