video.
Who: Mr. Jarvis and you!
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Marsiva
When: Today!
[The video begins with a fellow in a well-pressed suit and a carefully adjusted tie, all befitting someone who puts the most care into looking a well-kept part in society. His poor hair could do with some pomade - it hangs a bit, droops like a wilted leaf on his forehead, but otherwise he's made sure to keep his dignity in the wake of this... horrible event. He's been clearly kidnapped. Kidnapped! He prays Miss Carter is safe somewhere; the last thing he remembers is being hit with a tranquilizer, but he can't seem to remember if it had been a terribly dangerous affair. Didn't they have the assailant in their trunk? Oh, what a beast the man had been. He will attempt to keep his composure regardless. It's his job.]
While I appreciate that you've let me keep my reading glasses, I'm afraid I won't be broken in by such... backwards methods. Whoever you are and wherever you have... taken me, I can assure you that you've chosen a terrible person to kidnap and that kindness will earn you nothing of use. I'm just the butler; a chauffeur, and I'll have little to offer you, unless you would like to learn how to properly fold any and all manner of clothing.
... Or how to properly prepare a dining table.
[I imagine nothing of that sort will interest you, you're probably all thuggish barbarians.]
If you think you'll get anything at all from me otherwise — well!
[He folds his arms, and though he's concerned for his health in the future (god please don't murder me whoever you people are), he is doing his best impression of an impassive, dry-witted butler. As always. He doesn't sell it perfectly, but at least he's selling it, and that's what matters. Look how tough and unbreakable I am. Can't hurt a butler when he's down.]
You're sorely mistaken.

[........ brb fumbling now]
How do I turn this thing off?

[see: it's not.]
Have you made any contact with these enemies thus far?
video »
Oh! And Mister Jarvis. Do mind your augment -- somewhere on the back of your head.
video »
So I should be cautious not to let my anxiety get the better of me and attempt removal?
video »
[ she'll let him hazard a guess as to why. ]
video »
Would it be the last thing I'd ever hear advised if I did attempt it?
video »
[ -- oh, my dear mister jarvis. she's certain he would pass out from the deterring pain long before he managed to go too far in the hopes of removing it. but it's good for him to gain a healthy respect for the augment from the outset. ]
Our survival here is dependent upon them. So, too, are some of our skills. Give it time and you'll start to realize you understand more about these ships than you ought to.
video »
I can already imagine Mr. Stark attempting to take apart this... phone?
[is it a phone, do i get a cookie]
video »
[ no cookies, but she does offer a crooked smile and a word of praise. ]
video »
Terrifying.
... The color and sharpness is spectacular. Almost as impressive as the giant self-maintained spaceship that floats through the stars. [Dryly.] Almost.
video »
[ don't even get her started on aliens. ]
video »
[lmfao]
Now that I talk about drifting through endless space, the more horrific this entire situation is.
video »
We do stop. At way-points, so to speak. But there hasn't been a single successful escape attempt despite that meager freedom. [ maybe she can distract him... ]
Our current stop is a sort of outer-space hotel. The service has been atrocious.
video »
[And he totally does roll his eyes to the heavens as he says that.]
I couldn't tolerate this for long periods of time. As surprising as it may seem with my busy schedule and simple nature, I am a social creature. And I am admittedly - quite lonely already.
The Marsiva is a glorified doctor's office after-hours.
...
I think I've had a dream of something like this.
But with my childhood pediatrician chasing me with needles.

video »
[Well, shit, he also loves privacy.
But it could be worse. He shrugs, as if accepting this fate.]
I imagine I have no say in the matter. Are there any passengers I should be wary of?

I'm sure I can aim to impress! I've also got my own pilot augment. Maybe this pilot simply needs a little company; I could interest them in learning a few pointers in social etiquette!
[jarvis pls dont]
i swear i changed accounts.
kate calm down you'll get yours
[I'm shit-talking my own character, what a day to be alive.]
wow.
[ it's entirely possible that warning jarvis away from max is just as much for max's sake as it is jarvis's. ]
no subject
[Begrudgingly. But he sighs.]
Very well. I'll treat him as a wild tiger and tip-toe carefully.
There are no other living traps aboard the Starstruck, are there?

What sort of considerable powers and abilities should I be expecting?
no subject
Apparently, in the future of our world, there's a considerable number of remarkable individuals: people with skills and people with powers. For better or worse, a great chunk of them have decided to work together. [ she doesn't want to bring up steve again, so she tries to sidestep his involvement. ] Wanda Maximoff is one of them. She and her brother are both on the Starstruck.
[ a pause. then: ] Mister Jarvis, are you sitting down?
[ because you really should be for this. ]
no subject
He sits down with efficient swiftness.
Please carry on.]
