[Audio] Another Day, Another Canon Update

[If Nami sounds tinnier than usual on this audio feed, there's a good reason for that.] We're both still here. Luffy's here, too. Come home.
[Snort.] Well, "home".
Aa, I noticed. At your command, Nami-swaaan~!
[And click. There's a series of beeps, and then it starts again-- this conversation, or the first fifteen seconds of it before she stops it again. It's a recording.
Pause.
And playing it again. It's safe to assume Nami doesn't know she's broadcasting, but the point becomes moot when there's a clatter and the voices cut off again. We return you to your blessed silence.]

[So yeah, Nami's holed up in her room for the day. She'd take the night off from bar work, only the Shuffle informs her Remy has gone, so she's down a staff member as is, but until then... taking some space. She's not sure whether listening to old conversations is to make her feel better or just another form of twisting the knife-- can't work out which.
Either way, eventually she addresses the network proper, because she may as well get some productivity out of this whole shit show. Her voice runs hollow. It wasn't a good night.]
This might be a stupid question-- I don't know. Computers aren't my thing. But you know, every planet we go to, it seems someone runs into trouble and needs a bail out. That's par for the course, I know. Happens all the time at home, too.
...in Adstringendum, our communicators had a built in-- GPS, I think it was called? You just hit a button on your comm, and it'd send your coordinates to whoever you were talking to at the time. People could go straight to where they were needed. The Fleet comms don't have that, or at least not that I can find-- if someone's found it, point it out. Like I said, computers aren't my thing.
But if it's not on there, is someone tech-savvy enough to add it? I just think it might help people out. I see people put games on this thing all the time, so I figure it might be possible. You could borrow my Adstring comm if it'd help. [She still has it. It's what she was listening to earlier.]
Anyway, just thought... I'd ask.

On a more simple note, the Space Bar is down a chef. I guess that means I have a job opening.
[The enthusiasm just jumps off the page, doesn't it? Another friend down.

Whatever he's involved in, he's probably scared to involve you.
Lying is... usually the best way to try and keep someone out of harm's way. To someone who is out of options, anyway.
[Maybe he's stepping over his line. He was only with them for a short time in comparison, and of course Nami knows Sanji better than him. That much isn't debatable. But... Sam also knows that sometimes, you can be too close to the ache of it all to be objective and see Sanji's side of it.
Because it sounds like Sanji seriously fucked up. Even if just from an outside look.]
And if it's something that scares Sanji of all people, it has to be bad enough that he thought trying to destroy his place in your crew was the only way to keep you safe.

[Her tone is hard, and she stops, trying not to take it out on him. Of course she knows that. She's spent all day chasing it around in her head. Sam's line of thinking makes sense, but all Nami can think of is that Sam may be part of the crew, but he's not a pirate. Not yet. He hasn't been around long enough to see this stuff, doesn't know the history. She's not here for a lecture. She takes a breath.]

A couple years ago, Robin was approached by the World Government and coerced into going with them-- by threatening us. They told her they had authority to launch a full fleet of warships against our one caravel, reducing it to splinters and killing us all, even if we were in port. No matter who else got in the way. It terrified Robin. She did the same thing. Helped the government frame us for attempted murder, looked down her nose at Luffy, abandoned us all.
We declared war against the entire World Government to get her back, Sam. And we're still here. Luffy is-- we're that good. And Sanji was there for that. [She grits her teeth, looks away, because now her upset is climbing and she doesn't want to yell at him. Or burst into tears either, thanks very much.] Whatever's going on with him, he knows better than to do this. He's meant to have faith in his crew. If he's so scared for our lives, or anyone else's, he's meant to have faith in his captain.
Not treat him like dirt and stomp him into the ground and act like we're so far beneath him. He didn't have to do that. He didn't have to do any of it-- he didn't--
[Didn't have to glare at her like she was offensive just for being there. Apart from that, he didn't acknowledge her at all.]

But I know on good authority as a raging hypocrite that his reaction might've been the best choice to him in the moment, anyway. Maybe what happened to Robin only helped him make the choice. [He shrugs, holding a hand out in case she wants to scowl or cut him off; clearly it's a very sore thing for the crew right now. Duh.] I won't pretend I'm right on anything I'm saying... and I'm not gonna pretend he was right to do what he did. But... I do know that you straw hats have your faults for all your strengths.
And launching headlong into danger is one of them.
He may be working with something far more dangerous to you guys than even a fleet of warships, and he's panicking. But um, I'm kind of working on limited knowledge so far, so be patient with me here. What do you know about the people he's returning to?
