At the risk for earning a reputation as a party planner, I have a thing for everyone to attend again. Don't worry, lots of other people are helping pull it together. It's going to be on New Year's Eve, but the real event is the countdown to Winn's birthday which is also on the first. It's going to be in a club we rented out for this in the red shift district. Starts around seven-ish. Ends when you pass out?

It's kind of a surprise maybe? At least the part where it's for his birthday. And if you don't know Winn but you still want to come that's fine too. You can trade a gift for Winn for a free drink at the bar. Otherwise, bring some money. Cake's on us though.

[Birthday/New Year's Party]
[The space is well decorated and so glittered you can probably tell Wrath was part of the team putting this together. Lots of Winn's friends came out to help whether it was getting decorations up, managing food, music, or chipping in to buy out the space and a drink for anyone bringing a gift. Not to mention drinks for the birthday boy all night.

There's a table for presents and another one with a spread of openly available food though the bar has appetizers you can buy too. There's a big cake at one end because of course there is and some punch that didn't start the night spiked at least. There's space for dancing and a karaoke machine set up on a small raised platform for those who want to try their hand at entertainment.

The night really kicks off when Winn walks in and instead of a balloon drop there's a fluffy blue stuffed bear drop. Feel free to take one of those home. There are a lot.

When midnight comes closer some people will file out to one of the observation areas to get a good view of the nebula for the big countdown. Bring your own person to kiss!

Yep, that's me!

It's pretty cool, though all of the crews still seem really small after what I'm used to. But there's a whole bunch of ships, for sure.

I suppose it's hard to get a solid number when everyone is typically kept so separate. It takes something like this to really get any kind of perspective on just how many of us there are.

[Yeah, Wanda's a real wunderkind when it comes to small talk. The painful thing is, she knows it, too... She clears her throat, trying to come up with some other suitable topic of conversation.]

So New Year's, do you have any resolutions for next year?

That's true! I love it when we all get together like this too. There's a lot of fun people here.

Oh! Um. Gonna try to get in less fights. And I got a new strap-on to try out. And um. Work on my mural. I wanna see if I can get Erik to direct on a section of it, since I think it'd be good for him.

[Yes. She did just say that thing like it was no big deal. ]

[Wanda cocks an eyebrow at "fun people," looking a little disbelieving, but she doesn't say anything further on that point. However, when Wrath gets into her new year's resolutions, there's one notable one that makes Wanda's eyes grow to the size of saucers and causes her to choke on her drink.]

[Give her a minute as she coughs, sputters, and tries to regain her breath.]

You okay? [Was it something she said?]

[She coughs a little bit more. Her eyes watering from her beverage going down the wrong pipe. She does manage to get out.]

Yes... I'm fine...

[One or two last coughs later... A sigh as she regains her breath. She then looks down to make sure she hasn't spilled any of her drink on herself in her shock.]

Well... sounds like you already have a busy year planned...

[Memories or no memories, Wanda still has her dry humor.]

Well, it's good to stay busy. That way there's less time to think about bad things!

[She smiles politely, as she supposes Wrath does have a point there. Still, mentally, Wanda's trying to process that earlier tid-bit Wrath let slip.]

[Wanda then starts to look a little more serious.]

In a place like this, however, I would not want to let myself get too distracted.

I think boredom is a bigger problem here than distraction. But it also takes time to get used to.

And everyone's different.

[Wanda sighs, sounding exasperated.]

I still do not see how anyone could ever get used to this...
