At the risk for earning a reputation as a party planner, I have a thing for everyone to attend again. Don't worry, lots of other people are helping pull it together. It's going to be on New Year's Eve, but the real event is the countdown to Winn's birthday which is also on the first. It's going to be in a club we rented out for this in the red shift district. Starts around seven-ish. Ends when you pass out?

It's kind of a surprise maybe? At least the part where it's for his birthday. And if you don't know Winn but you still want to come that's fine too. You can trade a gift for Winn for a free drink at the bar. Otherwise, bring some money. Cake's on us though.

[Birthday/New Year's Party]
[The space is well decorated and so glittered you can probably tell Wrath was part of the team putting this together. Lots of Winn's friends came out to help whether it was getting decorations up, managing food, music, or chipping in to buy out the space and a drink for anyone bringing a gift. Not to mention drinks for the birthday boy all night.

There's a table for presents and another one with a spread of openly available food though the bar has appetizers you can buy too. There's a big cake at one end because of course there is and some punch that didn't start the night spiked at least. There's space for dancing and a karaoke machine set up on a small raised platform for those who want to try their hand at entertainment.

The night really kicks off when Winn walks in and instead of a balloon drop there's a fluffy blue stuffed bear drop. Feel free to take one of those home. There are a lot.

When midnight comes closer some people will file out to one of the observation areas to get a good view of the nebula for the big countdown. Bring your own person to kiss!

[Would you look at this guy always being so good to her? She looks at him instead of the audience while singing and that makes all the difference.]

[ he looks back at her and he's so into the song and just having a blast through it. when it's done he lets go of her hand to give her an excited high five. ]

[She was not expecting a high five so it may look a little awkward to anyone watching but it gets there! She's used to hugs and kisses with Winn, but there is also something nice about it. She has full security in their romantic situation and she's super greedy and she also wants to be seen as one of his best friends and who do you high five? Your friends!] I'm glad you liked it.

I loved it.

[ he let's the next person to take the stage lightly shove them off it, and once they're back on the floor she does get that hug too. ]

Thank you. [ he hopes he won't get too drunk and forget that, because this is the kind of memory he wants to carry with him forever. ]

[She hugs back tightly and stays in his arms for a bit. It was kind of a thrill. Not exactly jumping out of a plane or fighting in battle, but it wasn't awful. She's still not doing it at the drop of a hat though! As happy as it makes Winn she just can't do that to everyone else!]

Thank you for being the kind of person that makes me part pony. Happy almost birthday, Winn Schott. I love you.

[ he's happy to hold her as long as she likes. ]

It's my pleasure. [ he laughs and kisses the top of her head. ] I love you too, Kitty Pryde.

[ but people keep buying him drinks! ]

[So forever? Or until she needs to use the bathroom?]

Dance with me before I release you into the wild again?

[Put them in to go cups. Totally normal.]

Only if you promise to catch me again at midnight. [ he's giving her a bratty take on smitten. it's a thing. ] I have to kiss you at twelve and say I told you so at 12:01.

[ he doesn't have to go cups, he has shot glasses. ]

Promise. If you're still standing. I can't do all the work. What will people say if I go around kissing passed out men?

[She smiles at him and tries to think back.] You told me so? What did you tell me that I've already forgotten?

[winn]

Hey, I'm not that drunk.

[ booping her nose. he smiles at the question. ]

I told you I'd kiss you on my birthday.

Not yet you're not. [Smiling at him as he bops her nose. Only he gets to do this kind of thing.]

Did I not believe you? Sounds like a bad bet to make on my part.

[winn]

[ that makes him love doing it all the more. ]

In your defense, we weren't official yet.

[passingthrough]

Oh yeah, my withholding phase. [Brushing her fingers through his hair.] Keeping just a little distance. [Thinking of it as a rebound maybe.]

[winn]

[ he pulls her close so there's no space between them. ]

Any regrets?

[passingthrough]

[Her arms drape around his shoulders.] Not one. It all got us to here. [She doesn't like the thought of those moments being hard for Winn, but they got so close, so fast even with them. They probably needed what little balance that brought.]

[winn]

[ they really weren't so bad - at worst they occasionally made him trip over his words, but he would've done that anyway. it's not like he didn't get freaked out by how fast things got so serious sometimes - he still does, occasionally. especially when the subject of children comes up. but it's a good kind of fear, he's not sure it makes sense but it is what it is.

he kisses her and starts to sway to the music - she wanted to dance, what! ]

And here's pretty great. [ not perfect -- but that's the being at the mercy of unseen overlords thing, nothing that she's done. ]

Pretty great? Gorgeously great. [Smiling and kissing him again.]

[ he chuckles into the kiss ]

[She ends the kiss with a nuzzle as they move around the floor—slower and closer than the song calls for.]

[ he's always happy to dance slowly and closely with her. he does so quietly for a while, before finally breaking the silence. ]

You're pretty stunningfully great yourself.

Charmer. [She smiles fondly at him.] Your real birthday and my not-really-birthday are pretty close now.

[winn]

I don't think Hermione's got enough potions to get us through the perpetual hangover.

[ too many parties lately. ]

I don't want to drink on mine. I want to stay in bed with you. I already had my party anyway.

[winn]

My liver thanks you.

If we do it right so many other parts of you are gong to want to thank me too. [She kisses him.] Okay, play with your other friends. I'll find you at midnight if not several times before that.
