Broadcast: Huntress & fleetwide

Hey everybody, this is Sorey. I'm just checking in, seeing if everything's okay. Oh, and paperwork for new upgrades will be coming in soon, so if there's anything anybody would like to see upgraded, cast your votes now!
Oh also, we don't have any lab support personnel. I know Mikleo's been doing some stuff but if you know anybody looking to transfer who'd like the use of the lab, could you let 'em know? I'll include a call out in my public broadcast in a sec.
Okey dokey, that's all for now! If anything comes up, don't hesitate to contact me or Mikleo!
[ Broadcast: all ]
I'm kind of curious; so there are a lot of different kinds of forces or energies here that are a lot like the ones back on my planet, but they don't seem to behave the same way here. Like the rules are different. Is anybody else running against that?
And as an aside, if there's any potential lab personnel looking for a place, the Huntress has an unoccupied lab, for now.

Thank you for saying so. It was always my first love, so I suppose it was inevitable.

I think... I would have been the equivalent of a human child of around ten, I think. Possibly a little younger. We do not reach our physical maturity until around 50, although we are walking and speaking by the end of our first year.

Why was Mikleo different, if you mind not my asking?

Tied together since birth.

So do your people have really large familial structures, since you're so long-lived?

Of a sort. Because of the cost involved in child-bearing, most elven families do not have many children - our family, that is to say, our grandfather's line - are considered somewhat odd in that regard. Also, we seldom have children in times of war. But age means less for us than it does for Men, so while when young an elven child might have playmates many decades or even centuries older, especially in the peril of Middle-earth, where children were few and carefully guarded. Once one is of age... well, it is even less of a concern. But as an example - I was long considered adult, and wed, by the time my youngest brothers were born.
So... immediate families, by and large, tend to be small. But yes, the extended family is often large, and tied tightly together, even over great distances. Which is not to say that we necessarily get along well!

I see...so, are your people pretty wide-spread? Do you have a kingdom or general consensus that provides laws and political structure or is it a lot looser in that regard? Are any of you nomadic?
video TLDR I AM SO SORRY SOREY
Of the Elven folk - my kin, those of us here, that is, we are Noldor, "Deep" Elves is the best translation. We are all... were all, princes of our own lands in Middle-earth. My grandfather Finwe is Noldoran - the High King of the Noldor, you see, and in Valinor where we were born, the three tribes all had their Kings, with Ingwe, the High King of the Vanyar, being also the High King of all the elves of Valinor.
But in Middle-earth, in Morgoth's shadow... things developed a little differently. The only great kingdom there was Thingol Greycloak's Doriath, fenced about by the power of his Maiarin wife. Outside those bounds, our long sundered kin kept to small tribes and secretive ways, and although they had lords and chiefs of their own they had no kings.
When we came we brought with us the skills learnt at Aule's forge, steel and armor, bright weapons forged to bite deep into the enemy. Many of the smaller tribes joined themselves to us, or at the least, lived in lands we guarded and often sent their warriors to train and fight in our armies. We held much land, in that time.
But Morgoth broke us, in the end, drove us out, slew our peoples. Gil-Galad was the last High King, now only Thranduil holds lands deep in what was once the Greenwood before it became Mirkwood, and he is king only over the few Sindar who remain and remember Doriath, and the Silvan folk whose forest accepted him. We Noldor are too few, now, and too scattered, although lords of great power remain, but even they will be gone, soon.
