Jarvis, again - quite confused. You're very inquisitive about the happiness of someone you just met! It's a noble cause, anyway, and kind to be concerned. Even if he's not sure why. "Quite content, yes. My employer is oftentimes concerning and sometimes infuriating, but he's a good man and has been quite good to me. I owe him a great deal, actually."

Like his life.

A pause. He cocks his head to the side.

"Is there something wrong with the food? I could always prepare something else if you're not a fan of waffles."

Don't go eating them forcibly on his account. :|

"The food is fine, I'm just not that hungry."

But he'll make a point to eat some. There. Are you happy now, Jarvis? He eats a little, and then looks back at the man, trying to judge him from his words, trying to decide if he's being actually honest or actively lying to himself. He eventually settles on the former. For now.

"That is...good, then. That you have have found a decent employer. There are many which are not."

Well! As long as it's not his food tasting bad. He tested it himself, after all, and was very confident these would be satisfactory. Maybe he should prepare some tea just in case, though. Milk is fantastic with waffles, but he's not so sure there's any available here...

"... Yes, very true. I owe a great deal to him — Mr. Stark. Howard, that is."

He forgets the whole... other Stark thing. So, so strange.

"I don't suppose you've met him? He was here for a short time, himself."

Alas, Fenris never really knew Tony- nor Howard. He was one of the people the elf largely ignored. Tony had nothing to do with the Tourist, nor Thedas, so he was put fairly low in Fenris priority list of people to interact with. Still, he considers, before shaking his head.

"No, I don't recognise the name, I'm afraid," he gives a shrug. "I am sorry you missed him. That is a shame."

"Quite alright, I carry on regardless," he says casually, though his mind hardly matches the weightlessness of his response. It's strange to be away from the residence. Still - it's important to press onward and do what he can, especially when it comes to Miss Carter and her cohorts. And now, Jarvis has a responsibility to be a decent and reliable crew member. "He would want me to be at my best, anyway. And my best is helping others when I can. If you're ever in need of anything, Mr. Fenris, don't hesitate to ask; as you can see, I will likely be restless anyway."

This kitchen has been turned into a waffle zone.

He could understand the restlessness. He was much the same, in the first few months of his freedom. It was hard, when it was something you were so used to. But this is different. This man is no slave, he doesn't bear the marks of one. He doesn't hold himself like one.

"I shall bear that in mind, though I prefer to see to my own needs."

Because he can. Because he doesn't want to be served by anyone.

"Oh. Oh, certainly. I apologize," He takes a slight step back, as if giving the man a complete visual cue that he has no demands of Fenris and his independent nature. It's nice to help people where he can, but he would rather not smother, if it's all the same. "I've been too needy, myself, trying to help around the fleet."

A pause.

"But surely... making you breakfast as a friendly acquaintance suffices?"

Because he enjoys making everyone food, you know.

Fenris watches him for a moment, sitting back. This is uncomfortable, it's not what he's used to- no, he's far too used to it- therein lies the problem. Still, he's supposed to be making an effort with new crewmates. Solidarity, and all that. As such, the elf exhales, sitting back a little.

"...I suppose it does."

He smiles happily at the answer.

"Right then. We'll have friendly breakfast meetings! I will likely make too much when I cook, anyway, so I'll need the crew to be punctual and free me from having to eat it all on my own."

Sneaky lil' bastard he is.

So sneaky, Fenris stares at him, a little blankly, before making a soft 'heh' noise. Almost a laugh. Not quite. But almost.

"I shall be sure to inform the captain of it."
