"I am, actually. But I... suppose I'm not here, am I?"
So strange.
"For now I've elected to work as a chef at one of the bars aboard the Iskaulit. To keep myself occupied."

"Mr. Stark... He's 'Howard Stark' isn't he?"
For all the anger she had harbored for the name "Stark," the first names of the family tree had not been an area of extensive study for Wanda. Naturally, "Tony Stark" was a different story. There was no one in the world who didn't know HIS first and last name. But Stark's parents... they'd both died in a car accident in 1991, back when Wanda was still very young. While it was generally common knowledge that Stark's father was the one who had really built up the family company, it had been Tony Stark at the company's head when Wanda's hatred was first ignited. When the sale of "Stark" weapons proliferated the world. It was only later that she came to learn the full name of Stark's father, Howard Stark. Her glitched memories had kept her from connecting the dots at first, but now, well, Wanda was feeling a little stupid only now figuring it out.
"He isn't a father yet. Yes?"
Wanda then shakes her head and answers her own question.
"No, he would be far too young whenever you are from..."
The differences between them, Mr. Jarvis and Wanda, all those years... it was hard to keep track of how much he knew. How much had happened in his life thus far, and how much more he may likely live to see. On that thought, Wanda makes a note to keep the lid on the details of Mr. and Mrs. Stark's fates. Jarvis did not need to think about something like that.

"Not quite too young, actually, but he's... terribly bad at commitment. And he's unfortunately rather unfair and disrespectful to most women he goes out with, so to speak." A sigh. "He is never cruel intentionally, but he makes a habit of vanishing very quickly. A playboy, if you will."
He shakes his head.
"As his butler, I have the unfortunate task of dealing with the fallout, since he's... often not around for it..."

"kāds tēvs, tāds dēls."
She mutters the saying in her mother tongue. It certainly seemed to be darkening her expression; however, she tries to keep her tone level and calm. She knows it had all been a misunderstanding, and that it would do neither of them any good to just rehash it all over again. Instead, she steers things down a slightly related path.
"I... have the good fortune of knowing his son, Tony Stark. However unlikely it may seem right now that the man will settle down... well, I suppose he just hasn't met the right woman yet."
That certainly did beg the question of how exactly Mrs. Stark had managed such a feat. Wanda briefly considers what kind of woman she must have been like. Who knows, at this rate, she might even end up meeting her here, too.

Nod, nod.
"Mr. Stark could use a little more common sense when he runs out."
no subject
"I doubt there is enough common sense in the world to make up for his deficit."
Was she talking about the father or son? Probably both. The expression lightens on her face though, and her voice returns to a less-barbed tone.
"I think you had more of an impact on the younger Stark than you may come to realize. I can't say with any certainty what kind of relationship you had with Tony as a child... but it must have been somewhat close."
She grins knowingly, leaving things at that and baiting Jarvis' curiosity.

He is far too curious about the future. Terribly so.
"I hope so. I do... like to make good impressions. It's just..." He sighs. "So hard to try and envision things that haven't come to pass."
no subject
"And it's only in a place like this where the future suddenly becomes far more relevant and important than it may have ever been before."
She thinks quietly to herself for a moment. Her expression becoming a little more solemn and serious.
"I do not know how much one should be told about their own future. However, in this place, it's inevitable that it will come up at some point. But I will not tell you anything you do not wish to know. It is not my place."
no subject
He nods his head in agreement.
"I appreciate the offer, Miss Maximoff. I... think it's best to try and take everything one step at a time now, and focus on what is in front of me now. And if the future becomes of great importance, I suspect I will learn more whether I'd like to or not."
He smiles a bit, exasperated. What can ya do, right?
"... Though I may fancy asking about things not relative to my own future... Like music and movies."
no subject
"Well, I suppose that's relatively harmless... with maybe the rare exception. Sadly, I am not too much of an expert on either, but I'm happy to answer based on what I do know of both."
no subject
"I appreciate the offer. What sort of movies do you like? Perhaps we can make a hunt of it, finding anything watchable from Earth."
no subject
"I am somewhat embarrassed to say that I do not really know. As I said, I am not much of an expert. I do not think I have seen enough variety of films to form a preference for one or another."
no subject
no subject
"That is kind of you. Though I am not sure as to exactly how wide a variety of choices we will have on the Fleet's network alone."
no subject
"...True. There are probably things on the network no eyes should see."
no subject
"I meant more in the archived media files and less the Fleet broadcasts, but... well, you might be right either way."
