Fine, fine, I'll... ride with you for now, I guess.
[Please don't get them killed, he doesn't want to die screaming on a hoverboard.]

Hey, there's no reason to shout. He didn't do it on purpose.
[GOSH DEZEL LOOSEN SOME OF THOSE BELTS THEY ARE MAKING YOU CRANKY.
no subject
Come on.

Let's go...
no subject
Okay! Which way?

[He leans forward a little and eases the board into motion. He's already had a little practice with the hoverboards on his own time, but at the heart of things, he's able to steer mostly using the wind. The hoverboard is just there to keep him from expending all his effort on flying.
And if he notices Mikleo clinging to him, he doesn't say anything. Hopefully Mikleo won't say anything either when he gently reaches down to take his clinging hand and hold him there.]

It's not like he's afraid of heights or anything - he'd overcome that fear long ago, climbing up and down precarious ruins since his early years - but flying around on a tiny little board is very different. It's not even like dwelling in Sorey's body while he's armatized with Dezel or Zaveid, either; back then his awareness was more vague, he didn't share the same sense of vertigo or directly feel the rush of air around them.
It doesn't feel much at all like surfing, in truth. At least there, he had the water to catch and comfort him. Instead, it reminds him of flying freely, wings spread, staring hungrily at the world below...
...ugh. He grimaces, eyes clenching, and just waits for it to be over.]

[While Mikleo clings in terror, Sora flies along easily. He's already spent a great deal of time learning how to use a hoverboard, and being in the air just felt natural to him. The feeling of the wind rushing by, the freedom of being off the ground. It felt wonderful. It was much easier to focus on this instead of what he knows will be happening at the end of their traveling.
...Yeah. Not looking forward to that part so much. ]

He starts to slow down as they approach their destination. He calls and motions for Sora to follow him a little north, and then they glide to a place that hasn't seen life for a long time. It looks like it could've been the site of a warehouse at some point, but there's nothing here now except some rocks and forgotten beams, odds and ends that even little kids would find boring.
Dezel glides them gently to a stop. He's not sure Mikleo knows they're there yet, so he wraps his arms around the water seraph and gently, so gently, lets him onto solid ground. It's the same treatment he'd use with Rose. For someone cursed, it does seem like everyone around you might break if you jostle them hard enough.]

With a cough he turns back to them, hands on his hips.]
Alright! Ready to begin? Anyone need a drink or a snack, first?
[/moms]
no subject
No, I'm alright for now. [What a mom. His nerves would make it hard to eat anyway, now that he can't just ignore them] So what do you guys got in mind?
no subject
... I think the idea was to get you accustomed to your limits, so you're not afraid of your powers anymore.
[He glances at Mikleo, hoping their intrepid captain has a bit more to say.]

Hmmmm...emotions, really. Like when I get really scared or angry or sad...that's when they go off.
no subject
[If it's just negative emotions, then it truly is tied to fear and not just a lack of control.]
no subject
If you can remember anything more specific than just the emotions, that might help.
no subject
[He thinks some more]
I dunno. I just...stuff happens that makes me feel that stuff, and it feels really strong until suddenly it- goes off. Almost like... I dunno, something bursts or overflows? Does that make any sense?
no subject
[It was kind of like that with Rose's resonance, too.]
no subject
no subject
No, it's more than that. I mean- yeah, I am kinda afraid of them, I'll admit. Who wouldn't be?
Maybe I'm not explaining right. [He sighs] But it's almost like...the powers are part of the feelings? I mean, they change based on what I'm feeling. Like if I'm sad, stuff gets heavier. If I'm jealous, powers can get switched around.
If I was just afraid of them, it'd be the same kind of power going off every time, right?
no subject
We're not ridiculing you for being afraid of them. It's just that people who don't want to acknowledge something can make it harder on themselves, even if they don't mean to. We've seen it happen.
[He crosses his arms and leans on one leg.]
It's all mind stuff... I'm not sure I'd call those things separate and different powers.
no subject
[He drums a finger on his chin thoughtfully, pacing back and forth a couple of steps.]
I wonder why nothing happens when you're feeling more positive emotions, though. Is it because your abilities don't seem necessary in those times? Or is it something else holding them back?
no subject
[Is that what they were saying? He uncrosses his arms so he can rub the side of his head. ]
I dunno...maybe I'm not strong enough? I never really questioned it.
[Since you know, knowing your happy feelings aren't going to set off freaky powers sure is a nice reprieve]
no subject
[There's storms to consider, flying, breathing, circulating the air-- lots of things.]
If it's anything like the rest of you, it's probably not a deep mystery.
