[So this was a thing - space, big ships, being bored, no war, and - most importantly - no Saniwa. That had freaked him out when he first arrived, as well as the fact that him interacting with all these people wasn't going to blow a hole through time and space. But well, here he was and the Keibiishi hadn't shown up to lop his head off, so it must be fine, right? .....Right?

With the usual tinny fanfare, he appears on the Caprine ship and after a quick look around his surroundings, decides to try the little device he's seen his Saniwa talk into before.]

This place is a piece of shit. What the hell happened to it?

And where's my Saniwa? Because it's one thing to go back in time, but this looks like it's forward and I'm not sure I'm supposed to be here. If any of the other swords can hear this, which one of you messed up the dial? Or did one of you idiots lose me on the training mission. If you left me behind, I'm gonna kick your ass when we get back.

[That's okay to ask, right? If it's in the future, then surely they know about time travel since the government sanctioned it to keep the world from exploding.]

Well if they can separate us from our bodies, this Atroma thing has to be some kinda god. And I'll fight a god if it comes to it. I ain't lettin' anyone take my damn body from me.

Buuuut then he realizes that not all the humans here are probably completely familiar with what his saniwa would know, so he tries to explain.]

I'm a tsukumogami, a spirit, of a sword. What you see is a manifestation of my spirit into a physical body.

[Yeeeeeah, he probably sounds crazy now, doesn't he?]

Yeah...I'm startin' to learn that most people here aren't gonna know what I am.

[He sighs.]

I'm a sword and a person at the same time, that's about the sum of it.

Right. Well...I can't say that makes a whole lot of sense, but I think I get the idea.

Have you ever been separated from your, uh, body...before?

[He shrugs.]

Can't say it makes a hell of a lot of sense to me, either, but here I am.

But what d'you mean separated? Like havin' my sword taken from me and leavin' my spirit behind?

I guess that's what I'd mean, yeah. I'm just wondering if that means your...body...might still be nearby. If you need it to be.

[If he needs it to exist at all, basically. It means, if his sword is close, his weapons and other people's weapons might also be recoverable from Atroma]

Can't happen as far as I know. I may have a physical body right now, but my spirit still lives in my sword.

[He shudders as he considers what it might mean if someone else could rip him from his vessel.]

If you pulled me completely out, I'd probably cease to exist.

Stop me if this is too much information, but were you and your sword...your body...created at the same time? Or was it one before the other.

If an object's around and cared for long enough, a spirit like me comes to live in it. My swords have been around for about six hundred years now. This physical body's only a year or two old though. Got summoned into this form to help fight a war.

But yeah, that's what I am and how I came to be. What about you? You're human right? Is all this space and...people watchin' us normal for you?

I'm used to space travel, yeah, but not the rest of it. I've heard of shows like this, but as far as I know it's the kind of thing people used to sign up for.

[And dumb. He would rather have 15 minutes of fame for killing someone famous or being part of a massive war, than to just be watched by people. That's just creepy.]
