Apparently many people on the Fleet seem to be suffering from sadness. I have come up with some suitable solutions for you.

One: Crying. (This works for many)
Two: Drinking. (I'm less sure of this)
Three: Cuddling.

These usually work from what I've seen of people with . . . feelings. Hopefully you will all recover soon.

[ Cara wrinkles her nose because the smells are strange (but not bad). She clears her throat to make her presence known. ]

[He glances up from the pizza dough he's been spreading, giving her a wave and motioning for her to come over. Stefan's laid out everything: pizza sauce, powdered milk + vinegar, various chopped vegetables for toppings.

Space pizza > everything else, right now.]

Hey. Have you cooked before at all? Or is this all brand new?

Zedd and the others don't let me cook.

[ And rightly so, since Cara's cooking is awful. ]

Oh. [ . . . ] In that case, um, just take a seat and I'll show you how it's done.

[ She pulls up a chair, not particularly enthused. ]

Aw, come on. Even if you're not allowed to cook, you can still keep me company.

[He reaches for a ladle, gently spooning that tomato-y sauce all over the dough. He's clearly done this before; he doesn't even have to look down.]

So to clarify: you've never had anything that looks like this?

I know what sauce and dough is. Most of our cooking was done by servants, which is why I don't know much about it.

Ah. See, I learned how to cook because I had to. Didn't exactly have servants in college.

[Or the vast majority of his life, though he'll keep that to himself.]

[ She frowns, puzzled. ]

What is a college?

It's a place of higher learning. Like a university? Or school?

. . . I went to school. For a short time.

Oh. [He pauses, glancing down at the toppings as he starts to add them.] Did you like it?

I wouldn't know. I barely remember it.

I see. [ . . . ] Would you wanna go back? If you could?

No. That part of my life is lost.

["It doesn't have to be," he wants to say, but some things, Stefan knows better than to press.]

Mm. Do you have a preference for toppings? Olives, tomatoes, et cetera?

Not particularly. What goes best?

Personally, I'm partial to spinach and green olives, but people go crazy. There's even a huge debate about pineapple and whether or not it counts.

[ She scrunches up her face. ]

Who has time for that?

[He laughs, half-distracted – ] People with too much time on their hands.

People have a strange way of filling up time. I've never understood it, but then I've never had time for myself.

You've got time for yourself now, though. [Don't mind him adding the spinach and green olives, 'cause he told her they were his favorites, before he goes and puts it in the oven.] How've you been keeping busy?

I train. I don't want to get rusty when I go home to Richard.

[ But beyond that . . . nothing. She's listless. She doesn't know how to occupy herself. ]

See, that's important. God knows when I've last stepped foot inside a gym.

[He does, however, note the tone in which that was said - ]

Maybe we could trade? You teach me some fighting stuff, I teach you how to cook?

[ That request catches her off guard. ]
