Video/Action
Who: Maglor and YOU! Also Maedhros is likely around somewhere
Broadcast: Video from one of the planet Mine sites
Action: Forges!
When: Anytime during this stop
I must say the good folk of this stop are very kind - they have allowed my brother and I use of the mines and forges here in exchange for some trading. My brother and I are going to be working on some proper swords - if anyone else is inclined to a bladed weapon, we are happy to make you one as well.
Grandfather, Fingon, you needn't ask, but your help in the forges would be invaluable - Maedhros and I manage, of course, but neither of us are... what we were. And we have neither Father, nor Curvo, nor Tylepe here to point out everything we are doing wrong!

Ain't nothing kind about dying from a broken heart. I'd rather go out with a bang, or I guess a snap, than just waste away.
[He recalls that happening a few times. Swords rusting into disuse, breaking because they weren't cleaned properly. The feeling of uselessness was overwhelming and it still ached, now that he had the memories of all his other selves gathered all into one head.]
Being as old as you are, I guess you've seen a lot of stuff though. Gotta make the years worth it somehow.
video;
Mm, yes, and no - as I said, circumstances were... [ Maglor shudders, old, old pain woken in his eyes, and he determidely pushes back the shadows ]
They were not kind. [ Is all he says and then he shakes his head ]
Aye, that much is true. It can wear on a person - but it was not all bad, and I am glad.
video;
Yeah, guess you're right. I got to fight again now that I got a physical body, so I can't really complain, even if it smells and does weird stuff sometimes.
video;
Bodies tend to - we are not so simple and practical as steel! But there are other joys that we have instead, and I hope the balance for you is worthwhile.
video;
....
So I guess it's okay.
[He could do without the aches and pains, the feelings, and the smell though.]
video;
Ai! I wish we had a hobbit or two on board then, so that they could cook for you. But failing that - my cousin and I are fond of sweets, so you are welcome to try some, if you are ever nearby.
video;
[aka sit and eat with them for a bit, but eventually get bored and go train.]
I guess I'll have to come meet you sometime though. Gotta see what your skills are so I know I can trust you with my blade.
video;
We have never worked on blade such as you, before, after all! If you come down soon, Fingon is here, and as always, my sweet-toothed cousin brought treats with him, so we have some to share.
video;
Where're you guys at? I'm getting the hang of the shuttles a little, so I can probably... [Fly? Steer?] get there.

[He gets up and grabs his sword off the bed. From off camera, he just shuts it off with a click. No goodbye, nothing. He's not exactly well-mannered like that.
It's a few hours later when a gruff looking guy, dressed all in black awith armor on his shoulder and chest wanders into the forge area. He's covered in some dust and a little soot on his face, but he also has a burlap looking bag slung over one shoulder and a black sheathed sword on the other.]
Oi! Is this the right forge?
action;
Doudanuki, wasn't it? Well met!
action;
He waits like he did in the other places and then turns when his name is called.]
Yeah. Maglor, right? The nine thousand year old elf?
[The sword nods his head in greeting.]
Ossu. I brought you some stuff I found lying around since I had some time to kill.
[And he offers the bag, inside of which is a medium quantity of various ores, and a leather flask of water.]
action;
Ah! Thank you - these will help a lot. [ He examines the ores ]
You have a good eye for ore. Will you come in?
action;
[He nods and wanders into the forge area, careful not to get too close to the actual fires.]
Being made of the stuff helps some. So how much have you made so far?
action;
My elder brother Maedhros, and my cousin Fingon. [ Maglor gestures to the red-head first, and then the other, but both are clearly busy, and do little more than look up and wave ]
Mm, so far we've mostly been working on weapons for ourselves, although we're now starting on our requested work. Here - this one we made for Fingon to use.
action;
In return, Doudanuki unsheathes his sword and holds it out to Maglor for him to inspect.]
Looks like you guys have the right kind of skill. This is me, so be careful. I'll die if it breaks and I can't heal until it's fixed. S'why I need someone who can sharpen and fix a blade here.
action;
A beautiful blade. [ He murmurs softly ] Excellently balanced too. Aye, we can fix you easily enough - now we just need to find a way to get a forge on the Iskaulit.
action;
[It's weird being wielded by someone else now. He's spent the last year being able to do that himself and watching someone else hold him, while familiar, also seems strange.]
My mas-- [Wait no] --Captain says he wants me to use whatever money I get for whatever I want. If you guys need funds, I'll do what I can do get 'em to you. Same with resources.
action;
[ Maglor shrugs and hands him the blade back ]
Thank you - but the money, you should keep for your own needs! The resources, I will not refuse.
action;
Why's everyone sayin' that?
[With a sigh, he runs a hand through his short hair.]
'M a sword. I don't got a lot of "needs" like humans and mortals do. The forge is something I need or I'll die. So I don't mind chipping it for it.
action;
A blade is beautiful not just for its ornamentation - indeed, too much can look... crass. But for it's ability to do what it is meant to. There is beauty in simplicity, too, in the clean lines that show it is a good blade.
Including food? [ Maglor blinks ] That is a useful ability, if so. And when you put it that way, it makes more sense, yes. We will have to look into the costs involved as well as the practicalities of a fire on the ship...
action;
Well, whatever - I mean, that's what I think too. But it ain't about beauty - it's about whether or not I can kill when I gotta.
But I uh, need food, but I can get by with what they got on the ships. I don't have to eat as much or sleep as long as humans, but I do need it.
I just need a forge and a way to fix my blade more.
action;
True - but they are not mutually exclusive things! And my folk have always sought to lift form into function, to catch beauty in the way things work, as much as what they look like.
Well, some of us like more elaborate things too.
[ He admits wryly ]
Mmm, when it is your life on the line it becomes more pressing, eh? I will ask around and see what may be done. [ Maglor promises ]
action;
Most people want swords for collectin' these days, so a thick, straight blade ain't all that exciting. Sometimes you get those people who want a sword used in real battle, but sittin' on a shelf ain't exactly my style.
[Even he acknowledges he's ugly by collection standards. Only the super war nerds tend to even care to bid on his many blades.]
If you need any help with setting up the forge - fuel, space, funds - just let me know. For now, use the ones I brought for whatever projects you're working on.
