I must say the good folk of this stop are very kind - they have allowed my brother and I use of the mines and forges here in exchange for some trading. My brother and I are going to be working on some proper swords - if anyone else is inclined to a bladed weapon, we are happy to make you one as well.

Grandfather, Fingon, you needn't ask, but your help in the forges would be invaluable - Maedhros and I manage, of course, but neither of us are... what we were. And we have neither Father, nor Curvo, nor Tylepe here to point out everything we are doing wrong!

I don't know if I would call myself a wandering heart, but the fellow traveller you speak of is wise. I traveled the north for a time and it was quite difficult - it is always cold up there.

I, too, have lived enough winters on the road to prefer alternatives! Although summer can have it's problems too - grassfires were not uncommon in my lands.

Mmm, the south experiences those often - where I primarily travel is nice during the summer, though; not too hot, and when it is the forests are still shaded enough that they provide decent cover.

Having suitable coverage does make a journey easier. [ Maglor nods ] Although they come with their own dangers, I must admit I prefer a good copse of trees for shelter.

Mm, as do I. I much prefer to camp out when I can, rather than finding an inn for the night. But only in the late spring and summer months, of course.

Agreed! Although autumn is not too bad, if it does not rain!

Mmm, though it is pleasant if it rains early in the season. So it is not too cold, but it is a nice reprieve from the summer heat.

Even so. And I love the way the leaves change colours down in the valleys, also.

Also, as a wanderer, autumn is good because there is plenty for a forager to find!

Mm, that is true enough. I am not much of a forager, though - I cheat a bit and buy foods from the market.

Well, I do prefer to buy my meals! But a wandering bard is not always certain of their next meal, so one must learn, or starve.

The same could be said for a wandering mercenary. [she nods in agreement] It certainly cheaper, when one has few options.

Indeed - but, I think we can both agree to prefer a roof and a cooked meal, eh?

Aye! Although we have wandered far afield from bladeworks, it seems! Still, it was good to speak to another wandering soul.

We have, but it was . . . nice. [with a bit of a wry tone] I do not often find common ground with elves.

I am half-blood, so no matter how engaging I may be, that is enough to stop a conversation in its tracks for some.

That is foolishness - some of the greatest heroes of my world are the peredhel, the half-elven, and their descendants. I am sorry that you were so treated.

Aye - the line of Luthien the Beautiful has had the hand of fate follow them, but without Earendil and Elwing, we would have lost the war, and so also the world, I think.

Goodness . . . [she is dumbfounded that half-elves are seen as heroes. It just doesn't happen where she's from] I am - glad that in one world, at least, my people are treated fairly.
