[ there's something off about winn when the feed turns on. something different from all his other broadcasts. it may take a second to spot it but once you realize what it is it becomes glaringly obvious: there's not a hint of happiness anywhere on his face. his eyes, his lips, his nose, it looks like every last bit of joy has been drained from his features, so even when his lips do stretch lightly upwards, despite his dry eyes it feels more like watching him sob than seeing him smile. ]

Margaery's gone home. [ he has no way of knowing that. she could have been kidnapped to another world, one where she would have no protective big brother to introduce her to superheroes and feminism, to embroider with her and teach her science. but he chooses to hang onto that thought, to believe that she's gone back to the family he knows she so desperately missed despite never letting her pain show. he clears his throat. ] If any of her friends wanna come by for a toast and some stories, I'll be on the Tourist all day.

[ he has been on the tourist since he realized she disappeared, curled up in his bed, shut down. this is the most he's said since, and it feels almost like an outer body experience. he clears his throat again, and nods at the camera before killing the feed. ]

So we can get outta this reality-show garbage! I knew it!

[Her glitching had mostly subsided for the time being so she thinks, so, "small bundle of energy and high voltage" is back to the standard way of descrbing her. Her response will switch over from simply audio to a video feed of an empty chair at her comm station on the bridge, which is soon struck by a flurry of electrical blasts from console itself. This was the sort of topic that merited an in-person sort of conversation, and she can't really do that from inside the Heron's circuitry.]

Any idea how she pulled it off? It's not like anybody can keep secrets around here- not for long, anyway.

[...yes, she is also seriously missing the point of Winn's broadcast. By choice, really. He's a stranger, she's never met this Margaery person, and chances are good she wouldn't care too much about either of them if she did know them. Although Margaery does get some brownie points in her book for successfully escaping]

[ this is not what he wants to be dealing with right now (or ever, possibly). he jumps when he sees the electrical blasts, and sticks to voice responses. ]

My best guess? She didn't engage in the Atroma's games no matter what they pulled - she didn't cause a fuss, and ultimately that's boring to watch.

Gotta give the girl points for that I guess- not a lot of folks out there willin' to refuse dancin' to someone else's tune.

[And the way she sees it, there's no point in going out of her way to humor the jerks who kidnapped her anyway]

Maybe she'll turn out to be the real hero type- come back and let the rest of us in on where they hid the exit!

[ going out of their way, absolutely not. but winn ends up in entertaining situations quite by accident almost daily. it's a gift. he's never had this much money in his life. ]

Far as I can tell that's not how it works. When the Atroma sends you back, it's just as unexplained and random to you as when you get sent here. It's possible you don't even remember your time here. [ but yes, he's sure that if she could margaery would go back for them. at least for her friends. ]
