[Kitty's morning on the Tourist did not go as planned. It's another hour or so before she makes this announcement. She doesn't even know what happened to the minutes in between. But she's all business when she looks into the communicator. No hiding behind text.]

Winn Schott is in a coma. [Blunt. Direct. Maybe she should have called a few people individually first like Kara, but she wasn't going to make it through this if she did that.] He always has projects going, so they're going to be late. If something is important let me know and I'll see if it's something I can work on in his place.

I already fed his slug today, but someone on the Tourist should take care of that until lazy wakes up. [The mild insult to cover feelings is so classic Kitty, circa home it may not even fit with what people of the fleet know of her. That Kitty had walls around her walls, but those are gone now.]

He's always checking on ship systems on the Twin Roses since we managed to merge and still not get an engineer out of the deal, so if anyone else can help us out with that in the meantime let me know. I'll also be working on the new dance studio later today if anyone wants to help. [Because this mission is almost complete and she needs another one so she can hold it together. Can't fall apart if she's sanding down floors.]

[He can't help it, he laughs. He would have accepted it if Kitty had pushed about keeping the room, but he can't deny how grateful he is that she did give it to them.]

Ah, yes, of course, I must have nearly missed it with how small everything is.

[And he is, only a couple minutes pass and there's a knock on her door.]

[She starts to call out and then there's the sound of her moving across the room to open the door.] closed and locked because I never use doors. [But since she never thinks about that she forgot it was locked.]

Come on in.

I'll admit, that's a new one.

[Magic might seem strange to her, but walking through walls would always seem strange to him too.

As soon as he was in the room with her, he held out his cat for her to take.]

Here we are, one kitty for Kitty, as promised.

You know, without this little guy, maybe you wouldn't have responded with your awful joke to when I first arrived here. This was the kitty I was trying to call back then.

Doors are so out of style.

[She takes the cat carefully and holds him close.] Hey, buddy. You helped Anders and I meet. [This is a dirty trick. How is she supposed to stay all depressed and hopeless with all this soft fur to pet? She walks over to her bed and takes a seat, leaving room for him.]

I never had a cat. I did have a hamster named Peter when I was a kid though.

[Pounce loved attention, and the moment he was comfortable in Kitty's arms, he was purring up a storm.

Anders, meanwhile, followed his friend to the bed, his cheek leaned into his palm as hunched over to watch the 'kitties' interact.]

That's truly a tragedy, cats are the best pets in any world to have.

What was it like to have a hamster? I know they exist, but aside from perhaps a poorly drawn picture back in the Circle, I don't think I've ever seen one before. Thy're kind of like rats, right?

[She strokes Pounce and enjoys the purring.] Kind of. He liked to bite. I didn't appreciate that. But otherwise I liked having him around. Fun to watch. Good listener.
