Sokka | OTA
[Sokka can often be found lugging various (very dead) fish into the cargo hold for preparation. Some get frozen, some get hacked up and dried into fish jerky - it's gross, but if they're ever staring, they'll be glad for it. He's even started salting some now, too. He'll also bring in kelp and pretty much anything else he can hunt or pull up to add to their food source.
The
Peepersone eyed fish are weird as hell, though. He's pulling a face as he examines one. ]What is with the one giant eye? How are you even like this? How do you even survive?
B: Space sword!
[After his little trip into stupid challenges with Allen and Clay, Sokka has finally, after two long years of waiting and hoping, been reunited with his beloved space sword. He can be found in the bridge, sharpening it lovingly, or in the cargo hold, waving it about in practised sweeps. The sword itself is pure black and looks exceptionally sharp. Sokka's movements are actually quite controlled, he knows how to wield it well. The picture of a perfect, poised warrior, at one with his weapon.
Shame the noises he's making kind of ruins the image a little. ]
Swoooosh! Clang. Chink. Whoooopa.
B.
You're quite skilled. Where did you learn to use a blade?
[Not that it's surprising. They had talked before about his experiences with war. His skills clearly had come from that.]

Oh, hey, Leliana. [He glances down at the sword, fond. ] Master Piando taught me. I was really lucky, one of the few apprentices he ever took on.

[Which makes Sokka a very formidable fighter. It's a good thing they're on the same side.]

He is! He's one of the greatest sword-fighters our world has ever known. He was the trainer for the Fire Nations' royal family and everything.
[The key words here being Fire and Nation. ]

Oh? And how did you come by that lovely sword of yours? The craftsmanship is lovely.

[She is definitely someone who appreciates blades. Maybe not obsessively so, as shoes are her true passion, but she can appreciate them as much as the next assassin.]

I'll take that as a compliment. I made it myself. [He offers it over for her to check out for herself. ] I forged it out of a piece of meteorite.

[It certainly gave it an intriguing dark color. In the right light it even shown different flecks, like stardust.]

So a meteorite is like...a rock in the sky. Sometimes, they crash to earth, and if you smelt them, you can make metal out of them.
