Who: Velvet Crowe and You!
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: aboard the SS Red Fish
When: right after the Shuffle
[Velvet had woken up in one strange tin can and had only just started to get her bearings when she was suddenly transported to another strange tin can. This isn't how she was expecting today to go.
She stumbles a little but manages to catch herself, oblivious to the fanfare that signals her arrival.]
Where--?
[She takes a moment to steady herself, shaking her head to clear it. She blinks, focusing on her surroundings, trying to make sense of things.]
...Is that pudding?
[Where does pudding fit into all this? And that's not even mentioning the confetti. Actually she hasn't even noticed that yet, or the fact that a lot of it has fluttered into her hair. She looks pretty festive for someone so cranky.]

Re: voice;
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
voice;
Things are a little different now. That doesn't mean he's not wary, but the role of a Shepherd, his role, isn't as cut and dry as it once seemed. And if she's aware she's a hellion- a daemon, she'd called it, then she still has her own mind and heart, like the Cardinal. She's not like he was, mindless with greed and terror and violence.]
We call people overcome by malevolence 'hellions,' when I'm from. I think we might be from different times. [Far enough apart that terms change. So she's from either far into the future or from long in the past.]
I have to ask- you don't have any plans to hurt Zaveid, do you?
Re: voice;
I think I already hurt his feelings.
[Which means, yeah he already arrived at her ship.
She sighs a bit. The timeline stuff was getting kind of tedious. This isn't the sort of thing she has a good grasp of in general. It probably does explain the language barrier, though.
The questions he asks is a little tedious, too, but she knows she's dangerous. It's not that surprising he'd ask something like that.]
Don't worry too much about Zaveid. He can take care of himself.
voice;
I hope he won't be expected to take care of himself while he's around you.
[Not that Zaveid wouldn't be up for it. He just shouldn't have to deal with it on top of everything else that he's been dealing with lately.]
voice;
No. I promise to baby him now that I know how sensitive he is.
[She won't actually baby him, but she won't hurt him, either. They're not close, but she respects him. Though that might be hard to tell.]
voice;
Thank you. ...I appreciate the reassurance.
[And because he wouldn't be himself if he were remiss in offering it,] If your malevolence is too great a burden, I can help you with that.
Re: voice;
The offer to help her with malevolence makes her raise an eyebrow, though. The kid seems so earnest she doesn't snap at him, even though she doesn't believe him.]
I doubt that. But thanks.
voice;
Re: voice;
Velvet isn't sure how to respond to that. She is different than your average daemon--or hellion--for a number of reasons, none of which she's in a hurry to get into over a strange communication device. She's silent for a moment before finally replying.]
I don't think you could offend somebody if you tried.
[Her tone still isn't angry. It's sort of dry, and bemused. Because honestly how can someone be this pure? Is this kid real?]
voice;
Re: voice;
[She can't argue with that. She doesn't know him at all outside of a first impression.]
I'm Velvet. Velvet Crowe.
voice;
voice;
[It's going to take awhile to get used to these language differences.]
He helped me out a few times, but it's probably more accurate to call him Eizen's friend.
voice;
voice;
Something happened to Eizen.
[Though it's really more of a statement than a question. Her own conclusion. It could be wrong. She'd like it to be. But it wouldn't be that surprising considering the kind of life he chose for himself. It's still an unhappy thought.]
voice;
But of course he did. He's just so used to- No, naturally, she'd pick up on that. If she's used to him being around, used to him being a person... Like Edna, sensitive to any mention of her brother, directly or otherwise. He should've been more careful.]
I'm- I'm sorry. I never knew him personally, so I just...
Re: voice;
[She speaks sharply, though not so much out of anger. She's just not great at feelings. All he did was speak a little carelessly, though. That's not something he needs to apologize for. At least, not in her mind.]
voice;
[Sorey goes quiet as he considers. She didn't ask for any details and he really feels like it's not his place to say, despite Zaveid telling him that he's an active participant in Eizen's demise. Or...the dragon Eizen becomes, anyway.]
Do you...want to know how it happens?
voice;
Maybe not right now.
[It's not that she's not curious. She is. But there's a lot to take in right now. And she's not sure this is the kind of thing she wants to hear from a faceless voice over a strange communication device.]
Are you willing to meet in person sometime?
[Because he'll definitely want to give her bad news when he senses the amount of malevolence she gives off, right.]
voice;
voice;
It's okay if you don't want to meet face to face. I am a daemon, after all.
[She doesn't sound especially insulted by the idea. She knows what she is.]
voice;
voice;
You're some sort of exorcist right? [She's put that much together.] It's fine. I normally travel with one.
voice;
Feel free to call me after you're done, and we can meet up to cover anything he might not have been able to answer. [Because Sorey has a very strong feeling that Zaveid won't be able to tell her anything about Eizen.]
