Who: IT'S A GAME MINGLE GET IN THE VAN
Broadcast: If you want!
Action: All of it!
When: Second half of the month.
[hey everyone! how's it been going? how's medieval-fun-time-world treating you? anyone pillaged and burned anything yet? got kicked out of the castle? been planning expeditions? registered for jousting? busy angsting for the last two weeks on your ship?
this is a mingle for everybody, whether they're hiding in the volcano, out and about in the city, or up on one of those random random stations where you can get quirky souvenirs.]

Town | Marketplace (mostly)
because, amongst all the finery and novelties from the supposed faraway land of Easteros, he has finally found the holy grail...
Elven food.
sure, they're calling it something else here, and all of the ingredients he recognizes the smell of have different faces, but they can't fool him. he knows the tastes of home, and he can't get enough of it.
so, he stays there long after his money runs out. which means he'll be hanging around the stalls and carts, looking for leftovers to snatch or approachable faces to mooch off of. anything for another little touch of home.]

As she rolls inside she'll wave to Nel if he glances her way. But, she'll wait until she's close enough to be heard to actually say anything]
Hello Nel!
I'm just finding this tag now??
Nunnally! Hi!
[and he flaps his hand, gesturing her closer.]
adlkgh it's okay, one of your tek tags was in my spam folder for a million years one time ;A;
It seems like you're really enjoying yourself! [she sounds genuinely glad for that] Is the food delicious?
no subject
Yeah, here-- open your mouth. [as he's already tearing off a bit of whatever food he has wrapped in a little bit of paper]
no subject
It smells good!
no subject
[which, to him, is the only explanation needed.
and the food lives up to the smell--some soft, dense bread wrapped around spiced meats and roasted root vegetables. it's full of aromatic herbs and flavors, but the actual taste is milder than expected, and not spicy at all.]
...Well, they're not saying that it's elven, but it totally is. I'd recognize it anywhere.
no subject
I thought it would be too spicy, but it's delicious. [hmmm, she's so glad that he could find some little happy piece of memory here. But it makes her wonder...]
I wonder how this style of food came to this planet? Do you think it's possible that it had contact with your world a very long time ago?
no subject
Yeah, I don't know... they said that this all came from some land across the ocean... but had no idea what I was talking about when I said it tasted like elven food.
Like, you taste that, um... it's kind of buttery? But also kind of leafy? That's tallowplant. Only elves ever use that. My mom had a couple growing in a little window box thing back home.
no subject
It seems like it could also work well in desserts... Is it ever used to make sweets? [she can imagine pairing this taste with strawberry for some reason]
no subject
My mom said it was kind of a replacement for fat. And butter. [and he pauses to stuff some more into his mouth because just talking about it is making him hungrier.] --But it's a plant!
no subject
Laaaate I am sorry
there's no real intent behind his browsing, which means that his attention is free to be easily pulled off somewhere else. and, in this case, his gaze gets drawn up to a nearby face.
it's a funny way that the elven brain works--visual cues cut right through the conscious thought part of the mind and hit right to the back of it. he's glancing up and staring at someone before he even really notices that he's doing it.
this is what he gets for walking around with the filter on his modulator shut off. he gets to see through the illusions, right to the good stuff.]
perfectly okay
Even so, no one has stared at him quite like that lately. He feels the weight of it even before he turns to discover it's source. He's anything but bothered by it, and he returns the look with a blazing smile]
Can I help you?
no subject
Oh... was I staring? [the feigned bashfulness isn't meant to look genuine, in this case.] Sorry.
no subject
It's quite all right. I usually take it as a compliment.
no subject
[and he sticks his hand out, because this guy seems respectable enough for this to probably be the appropriate greeting.]
I'm Nel, by the way.
no subject
Nel. [He repeats the name, rolling it over in his mouth experimentally. Almost lovingly.]
My name is Felix. It's a pleasure to meet you. What ship are you from?
no subject
[not exactly the same as Felix' way of appreciating a name, but the sentiment is similar.]
And, oh, I'm from Three Twins... which I still think is a dumb name, but I guess it could be worse.
[sorry, Wonderduck.]
no subject
It's the least of our problems, yes. I'm enjoying what time we're allowed out of them. So far this town is actually an improvement.
