Who: IT'S A GAME MINGLE GET IN THE VAN
Broadcast: If you want!
Action: All of it!
When: Second half of the month.
[hey everyone! how's it been going? how's medieval-fun-time-world treating you? anyone pillaged and burned anything yet? got kicked out of the castle? been planning expeditions? registered for jousting? busy angsting for the last two weeks on your ship?
this is a mingle for everybody, whether they're hiding in the volcano, out and about in the city, or up on one of those random random stations where you can get quirky souvenirs.]

[It's a stage whisper... he's not much good at actually being quiet if the stakes aren't high enough.
A fact that's compounded, maybe, by the quiet, rumbling growl that makes its way out of the fold of his collar. A kitten pokes her head out into the open—and she is very interested in those bunnies, as well.
Anders pats her head.]
No, no, no, shh, shh, shhh. Those bunnies would almost definitely win in a fight, sorry to say.

I didn't see-- [whoops, she lowers her voice to match his stage whisper and smiles, ducking her head down so that she's on the same eye-level as the kitten] Yes, you must be very careful. [hehe this is a delightful turn overall] Bunnies can be quite dangerous.
no subject
[He scoops her up with one hand, and she wriggles just enough to keep the bunnies in her line of sight, ears pricked high and attentive.]
Would you like to hold her? You're not me or a bunny, so I assume you don't have anything to fear from the little claws.
[They are very, very little.]
no subject
I'd like to, if that's alright. [ah, but as she prepares to hold up her hands to accept the cute kitty she makes a solemn promise] I promise I'll be very careful.

[He sets the kitten gently in Nunnally's open palms. She's squirmy, but otherwise too small to be much of a handful.]
Nunnally, meet Captain Whitefluff the Terrible. Captain, this is Nunnally.
no subject
It's a true pleasure, Captain Whitefluff the Terrible. [she snickers a little at the name] How did you and Sir Anders come to be acquainted? [she looks up at Anders for the question]
no subject
A mutual friend found her out in the woods and thought we'd be a good fit for one another. Can't imagine why.
[The last bit is a joke, coupled with a fond tilt of his head as he reaches out to scratch Captain Whitefluff on her fluffy white head. It's a little sad, maybe, but the kitten is one of the few things that's been able to genuinely improve his mood, these last few weeks.]
no subject
Take good care of him, alright Captain? He's a nice man.
no subject
[Too adorable. He's only mock-offended; his tone is warm despite it.]
So long as she keeps taking care of any spiders that come our way, I think I'll be just fine.
no subject
I've only heard of cats chasing away mice?
no subject
The spiders we've seen so far have been small, at least. She'll grow into a proper mouser with practice. [He leans forward, utterly unashamed about the way his voice starts to lilt.] Won't you? Yes you will.
no subject
I'm sorry to be so selfish and hog all this time with her. Would you like to hold her again?

I've never had any pets, but I've always through they were very cute. [she looks back at Anders] Have you had other cats before?
no subject
Ser Pounce-a-lot is a bit bigger than this one. Every bit as feisty, though, I'll bet she could take him if she tried.
no subject
And that is very rude. I wonder if there is a way that we can file a formal complaint...? [she looks up, thinking diligently. She is a coms officer after all, it strikes her she might be able to do... something like that?] I'll look into it.
no subject
Wait, really? Is that something you could actually do?
[He loves this new kitten, but he misses his cat something fierce.]
no subject
But I'd like to try. I'm tired of-- [she pauses] Or, I suppose I should say, I'd like to see if we can have more agency here. And I'll never know unless I try with everything I have.
no subject
Well. If it does end up working, then Ser Pounce-a-lot will be plenty in your debt. You could have all the visits you like.
[He doesn't think the chances are very good. In his experience, negotiation carries no weight whatsoever when one party is dictating the life and livelihood of the other. But there's no real point in arguing it, so he doesn't.]
