Who: Peggy Carter, some rumours, and you!
Broadcast: text, then video.
Action: y, aboard the starstruck.
When: today!
[ a message materializes on the network around midday: ]
Peggy Carter's got a veritable guy-pile of suitors: Edwin Jarvis, Max Rockatansky, Jason Wilkes, Jack Thompson, Howard Stark, Stefan Salvatore, Steve Rogers, Sam Winchester, James Barnes, Clint Barton, Daniel Sousa, and counting! How many more can you name?
[ and not long after (in a state of utter pique and dismay), that same network registers a rather heartfelt reaction -- but this time with accompanying wide-eyed video. ] Jack -- Jack Thompson? Un-bloody-likely. The only thing he's ever got his eyes on is the next greasy rung on the ladder. [ peggy scoffs, disgusted. ] As pranks go, this one's been truly shambolic. The first of April was days ago.
[ in a few hours, she'll enjoy her meltdown all over again when she finds a box of sponsor gifts in the cargo bay filled with stickers, each with a different so-called suitor's name scribbled into the blank space. all of them are filled in except for an ominous pile with an attached note: in case there's so many you start to forget their names. blanks included for any others that we might have missed. ]

[ so, it's a wwii slogan. but it's no less valid just now. ]

I suppose the question might sting, a little, given your era -- but do you drink tea, Lieutenant Colonel? [ ah, to hell with it. she fells bad for him. ] Kettle's always on aboard the Starstruck, much to my First Mate's disappointment.

Wasn't even in the colonies when that happened, anyhow.

[ she rather refuses to brew it. long story. ]

Besides, if it's tea, an' you're recommending it, at least I know it's decent tea.

[ she's got a better stash -- although it's dwindling down to a bag or three -- but she doesn't share that tea. ]

Sure. I don't got much else t' do right now, so I might as well have good company, huh?

and then there's peggy herself, waiting with her arms crossed loosely over her chest. she's a funny mix of hard angles and classic curves -- and her greeting might leave a little to be desired in terms of warmth, but she otherwise isn't uninviting.
she holds out a hand. ] Welcome aboard.

--Ah. A familiar face, there, and he's of a mind to disregard any of those curves; congrats, Peggy, here's one more guy who won't hit on you at first sight. He offers her a grin and a slight bow, just enough to be polite; and brushes a kiss over the offered hand. Nothing ridiculous, just propriety.
Thank you, miss. 'S nice to finally properly meet ya.

The pleasure's mutual. [ -- but she's quick to turn and lead him deeper into the starstruck. it's much the same as the other ships, though it's possible that its metals seem a little shinier. sleeker. ] The kitchen's not far.

Figured it wouldn't be, if the layout's the same as mine.

[ calm -- cool, even. she walks just a few paces ahead of him. ]
