These would actually be really awesome... if he could afford to rent one. He was admiring a red one in the corner, thinking back to his own hoverbike back home, and wondering how different it would be to handle one that was landbound like this.
Maybe he could claim he wanted to test drive it? Just... take a quick zip around the area? No one would know, right?]

[That sounded fun. If Keith hadn't ended up in the Garrison or part of Voltron, he probably would have done something like that.
He considered the options, still really attracted to the one he had been looking at.]
I don't think I could actually buy one, though. I'm still new to the Fleet and don't have much built up, yet.
[He'd been doing odd jobs around the system to pick up some credits for himself, though... hunting, shuttling people and cargo, stuff he knew he could do. It was his first system since arriving, and he was hoping to at least stay out of trouble for a little while.]

Sort of, except mine had turbines and no wheels. It was a hoverbike.

A hoverbike? Wow, that's incredible. How fast was it?

[His expression said it was really fast, though. The fact that, even with four extra people on board, he'd been able to out maneuver and out run three Garrison armored vehicles wasn't something to shake a stick at.]
I wish I could find one like it here.

I don't think I've seen one like it on this planet, but if I had a baseline for the technology, I could probably build one eventually. Have you seen hover tech on any other planets?

Not like what I've got, but I'm kind of new. This is actually my first system since ending up on the show.
[Come to think of it, he hadn't really seen anything like it back home after leaving Earth, either. It made him wonder a little... but he'd have to think more about that later.]

That's a great choice! This one's built for powering through tough patches in particular---it's like a tank. It sacrifices some speed, but those traps will really get the other ATVs.
It's pretty exciting!
[Keith mulled it over. He was looking more for speed because he was pretty sure that he could avoid any traps with enough maneuverability, but yeah. This could do for a first run. He was willing to give anything a try at this point.]
