[Ignis frowns in thought. A child? No, he hadn't been told who his partner for this particular mission would be, but the thought that it would be a small boy is a little much for the seasoned fighter.

He does seem to be energetic enough, a little like Prompto. This can be either very good or very, very bad. He's not sure which yet.

Either way, he's not at all happy that this has occurred.]

I'm afraid there's been some mix up. I wasn't aware that a child was assigned to this task or I would have made them give you a different one, young man.

I'm sure that you're fine hunting down small animals and the like, but we're going after large, dangerous creatures. Allowing you to continue this way would just be completely irresponsible, not only of myself but everyone else. This is a job for adults.

[That comment doesn't sit well with him at first. A child should have someone to watch after them, even if it is only one person. However, if the boy is truly the captain of his own ship—and with the Atroma he shouldn't be too surprised if that's actually the case—then his entire crew more than likely makes sure that he is take care of so far away from his home.]

[ Ignis cannot help the smile that comes to his face. It's not a terribly hidden fact that he happens to like children. Especially if they are intelligent and able. Talcott is both of those things and is a member of the Crownsguard. The fact that his child is a stranger shouldn't rule out his ability to fight.

[Well, the boy gets points for optimism, something that Ignis himself has trouble expressing outwardly. He does, however, find it extremely charming in one so young.

He raises an eyebrow at the raised fists, but he doesn't stop him again.]

Hand-to-hand combat. That's rare for someone so young. I am trusting that you've had appropriate training, Takeshi. And I would appreciate it if you called me Ignis. 'Sir' is for someone else.

And I got lots of experience! I was in a special team at home, we hunted bad aliens who killed people. I was pretty bad when I started, but I learned a lot. And I'm pretty good at punching and throwing people.

[And... it appears he does have a gun, on his hip. One of the typical laser-based space guns that come in the armories. He'd been practicing with it regularly for the last year here. He'd... well — he doesn't like to think about the raid.
