Of course you would do this to me
He does seem to be energetic enough, a little like Prompto. This can be either very good or very, very bad. He's not sure which yet.
Either way, he's not at all happy that this has occurred.]
I'm afraid there's been some mix up. I wasn't aware that a child was assigned to this task or I would have made them give you a different one, young man.
no subject
You don't need to do that, mister. I asked for it! I'm pretty good at hunting stuff.
'Specially if it might be dangerous to people.
no subject
How in the world can a child be allowed to do something so dangerous as this on his own? Where are his keepers? And who does Ignis need to dress down to make sure this never happens again?]
I'm sure that you're fine hunting down small animals and the like, but we're going after large, dangerous creatures. Allowing you to continue this way would just be completely irresponsible, not only of myself but everyone else. This is a job for adults.
no subject
Now you're just being a butt.]
What! I can handle monsters! I'd be a real bad captain if I couldn't help fight the dangerous stuff.
no subject
He is a bit of a butt, it's true.]
You can't be more than seven years old. Where are your parents or guardians?
no subject
[Thanks for reminding him he's without them, gosh.
But he puffs out his chest, determined, and holds out his gloved hand for a handshake.]
Captain Takeshi Mason! You're from the fleet, aren't you?
no subject
Yes, I'm a member of the First Breath, Ignis Scientia.
[Reluctantly, he takes the young man's hand and shakes, not wanting to offend him any more.]
no subject
It's good t'meet you.
You wanted to help keep people safe, too?
no subject
He shouldn't make snap judgments. He already knew that before then. ]
Yes, it's nice to meet you as well, Takeshi. And that is exactly why I agreed to do this job. I suppose that we should get started as soon as possible.
[He shakes a wrist and his polearm materializes immediately.]
I take it you have a weapon of your own?
no subject
Yessir!
[And then he holds up his fists, gloved in black, small but sure.]
These bad boys, sir!
no subject
He raises an eyebrow at the raised fists, but he doesn't stop him again.]
Hand-to-hand combat. That's rare for someone so young. I am trusting that you've had appropriate training, Takeshi. And I would appreciate it if you called me Ignis. 'Sir' is for someone else.
no subject
[He'll try not to salute.]
And I got lots of experience! I was in a special team at home, we hunted bad aliens who killed people. I was pretty bad when I started, but I learned a lot. And I'm pretty good at punching and throwing people.
[And... it appears he does have a gun, on his hip. One of the typical laser-based space guns that come in the armories. He'd been practicing with it regularly for the last year here. He'd... well — he doesn't like to think about the raid.
But... he knows how to kill living things, if he needs to.]
