"No slang at all? I don't believe that!"

He laughs softly. "No slang, not really! Not in the way you have."

"Is that just an elf thing or is that a everyone in your world sorta thing?"

[bythewaves]

"An elf thing - particularly a thing in my family, I suspect! Father was a stickler for language - he loved words and how they formed and what they sounded like. We were raised to the precise use of language, and well. When you have lots of words for things, slang is less common. I'm sure you'd find more slang in the younger races - Men and Hobbits, mostly, as I suspect Khuzdul is as precise as Elvish, in it's own way. Maedhros might be able to tell you, he was good friends with the Dwarf King Azhagal."

"So y'all are a bunch of nerds, is what I am gettin' from this."

"You are lucky Winn taught me what 'nerds' means." He informs her with a laugh. "But yes, probably that is a very good description."

She grins back at him but before she can say anything else, the music finally starts up with a raucous beat of the drums and the crowd lets out a cheer. For a full minute, it's nothing but instruments, guitars and percussion and people dancing, but then... the guy she pointed out to Maglor earlier starts to sing. His voice is absolutely haunting - nothing like the usual angry rasp most of these types of bands seem to prefer.

Maglor starts at the noise, much louder than he is used to, but when the lead singer starts to sing... ah!

His eyes flutter shut to better listen and he smiles.

"Oh!"

Misty's attention is all on Maglor, watching his expression with great anticipation and then satisfaction as he's taken away by the music. She judged right. It's too loud to talk but that's okay - she just takes his hand instead, giving it a squeeze.

He squeezes back, and when the song is over he turns and hugs her, eyes bright.

"Thank you!"

She laughs, with both surprise at the intensity of his reaction and with joy that he liked it so much. "I told you you'd like it!"

"You were most definitely right." He smiles, glowing with his joy.

"He has a magnificent voice."

[mistyday]

"Gets right into your bones, don't it?"

[bythewaves]

"Very much so." He smiles at her, looking young and flushed and glowing almost as brightly as Finrod.

"Are there other acts like him?"

[mistyday]

She blushes looking at him - he's just so damn pretty! And happy! She wishes he could be like this all the time. "Probably - I bet if we ask folks here, they could tell us."

"I would love to hear more." Maglor smiles. "Ah, but it reminds me of the music schools of Alqualonde. I miss hearing new music and talented musicians! And here, there are so many all crammed in a small space. You should play, Misty. Show them how good you are!"

Her blush intensifies. "You think so?"

"I do." He smiles at her fondly. "I would hardly say it if not, Misty!"
