No, that's my tolerance zone, it's an easy mix up.

[ he is absolutely not comfortable with the leather, the nightly performances, the space, the alternate realities...but there's not much to do beyond grin and bear it until they figure out a way out. ]

Okay, you're right, it has - it'd be weird if it wouldn't expend at all after a year here, just a couple months revolutionized it back home - just - in other ways -

It wasn't that long ago that I was just the overqualified IT guy.

[ he's not sure why he's telling her that, other than sometimes it hits him full force and there are so few people he can voice these kinds of thoughts to that when the people he feels he absolutely can't aren't around - they just come out.

he loves the people this life has brought him, even loves what he does back home. but gotta admit that he misses just sitting in front of a keyboard, not worrying if one poor decision is going to cost anyone their life, playing video games and stuffing his face full of junk food during off hours...having off hours... ]

[Kara wouldn't have. Or maybe she would have, but Natasha has a hard time picturing Kara undervaluing her friends in that way, even if she can have her moments where she underestimates them.]

I mean -- I was normal. The weirdest thing in my life was contributing to an aliens are out there website - which - by the way, we were totally right, so much for conspiracy nuts. I stayed out of trouble, I didn't get in a fight since high school, if I messed up at work the worst that could happen was getting fired, I wasn't...the closest I was going to get to space or adventure or heroics was watching it. This - home - all of it feels out of my depth sometimes.

And the rest of the time?

The rest of the time I have something important to do and there's no time for feeling anything that doesn't help get it done.

Or, it's exciting and fun. [ there are a lot of those moments too. being a hero's addictive. ]
