Ring world wasn't good enough for you? Were you still working out the footnotes? [Happily sliding hands over him. She's gotten to a lazy, happy place as opposed to an eager, happy place.]

[ he smiles at her. see, lazy time achieved! ]

[They will be the pruniest of prunes before they leave this water.] I take my nonsense seriously. [And she does nonsense at him a lot and she enjoys the way he plays along. She smiles back at him.] Do you have a big tub in National City for us?

[ hey, nonsense is his realm. he shakes his head. ]

We're gonna have to move.

Oh, what else should we get at our new place?

I dunno...what else do you want?

A big, soft bed to roll around on. Good for jumping too. That's always important.

That I totally got - well, the mattress is getting old, may not be as jumpy anymore...we can replace it.

Yes, good. We'll also need room to dance [And if she's being more serious, not that dancing isn't serious] and workout.

Uh, moving the couch and coffee table wouldn't work?

[ let's be honest they're going to have some financial restraints for a while. he's not sure how nice a place he'll be able to get them, he's not kara. the big tub may have to remain a dream for a while. ]

Just part of the workout, huh? [She's not trying to make him nervous. So much of this fantasy is just that—fantasy. They are still trapped under conditions they have no leverage with, but she likes thinking of it as their future. As long as he's with her it's a good future though.]

[ to him it's not some distant unobtainable future; they're going to get back to national city, he really believes in it, and he wants to give her everything she wants. it hurts to think he won't be able to. is that what his dad felt, when they were struggling and his boss stole his design? no, that's really not a thought he wanted going through his head. they'll be fine. the deo pays well enough for a place with a bath and a new mattress. ]

I'll be the best couch mover around. If they ever attack we'll be so set. [The money part will definitely be interesting. It still means so little to her. She understands that it exists and that things run on it, but even in the fleet so much is provided at a basic level that her dealings with it are just treats. She hasn't had to live in a world where money was linked to survival. At least not for a long time and when she did her parents were taking care of it. She understands it intellectually, but not instinctually.]

living in the real world is going to be an adjustment. he doesn't even realize how big of an adjustment it's going to be for him as well; he's lived so freely this past year, answered to no one, didn't really have to worry about money which was a big shock - he definitely never expected to score good ratings, okay - going back home is something he very much looks forward to, but it's not going to be so easy to fit back in. ]

Wanna head to bed? [ the prooning is starting to feel unpleasant, and the water's getting cold. ]

[Just the regimented time periods of "work" as part of a day are going to be new. That's always just been mixed in with her life. There wasn't really a schedule to adhere to.]

Yeah. Can I have the bathroom to clean up and meet you out there?

You can have anything you want.

[ he kisses her and carefully gets up, washes the bubbles off, wraps a towel around his waist, picks up their discarded clothes, winks, and heads back into the bedroom. ]

[It isn't terribly long after that she phases through the bathroom door with a towel wrapped around her.] Don't think I miss the part where you stole my clothes, sir. [Not that she was likely to put them back on. She crawls into bed with him. The towel and girl within it are mostly dry.]

[ he has put on a fresh pair of boxers and a t-shirt to sleep in, because they went by the shuttle to grab their things earlier, yup. he wraps his arms around her and kisses her forehead, not minding the dampness that remains in the least. ]

You don't need them, you have me.

[Yep, totally happened. No one can challenge us on that.] Because you're a master tailor or am I wearing you now?

Just slip me on, I'll be your blanket

[ he sings softly and boops her nose because it's a nose booping moment. ]
