[New system, new rules, new opportunities. Furiosa does her exploring and gets a lead to a mining job that pays a little more than some of the others - partly because it's on one of the farther asteroids and through some treacherous pirate territory.]

[Which Furiosa didn't think she'd have any trouble with, especially if she could flesh out a crew of like-minded individuals.]

Fleet. Furiosa here. I've got a bite on a mining job out past the main cluster. Needs a few more bodies; I'll be leaving [insert reasonable time here] so meet me in the First Breath hangar before hand and you're in. Good pay.

[She'll be in the hangar bay doing general maintenance on the shuttle for the extended trip.]

[And you know, punching things. Fenris is there early, because of course he is, arms folded, leaning up against something a little out of the way of everyone else. He's clearly the fun-lovin', outgoing person of this little group. Clearly. ]

There is. I'll give you the numbers when you arrive.

[Furiosa is dotted with grease as she finishes up some repairs and exits the shuttle, putting her tools away and using a rag to wipe her hands off. She glances over and sees Fenris, then tosses the rag onto the box and walks over, pulling out her device.]

Hey. So, these are the numbers they're willing to give each person. It's based on number of hours worked as well as travel through the system, padded due to the dangerous territory.

[If Furiosa wanted it done quick, she wouldn't be contacting anyone else; she trusts her own flying and fighting capabilities. But the add had been for a group, since a group of people can mine more than a single person.]

Engines. Check. Thrusters. Check. Shielding ... double-check.

[Tyrion is going around the shuttle, making sure everything is prepped for them to fly out on theirs. He nodded his head, before glanced over at Furiosa.]

Well Captain, looks like we're good to go. Guessing I am, of course, staying with the shuttles so no one runs off with them for my cut?

[Insert cheeky grin here.]

Hey, you want in on this; you contribute. Staying back and babysitting the Breath doesn't count.

[She gives him a cheeky grin back.]

[Kaidan, clad in his personal armor, tosses a small bag of supplies into the shuttle and turns to Furiosa, idly fiddling with his rifle.]

Do you want to bring a few extra pistols from the armory?

Wouldn't hurt.

[She's got plenty of weaponry stashed in there, but she'd rather keep their location to herself until needed.]

[She takes a look over his armor, then raps her knuckles on his breastplate.] Not bad. I might be jealous. You find a lot of use for gear like this?

Shot Down

Everything had been going fairly well until they drew in closer to the waypoint, and then their little shuttle started getting fired upon from multiple points on a nearby asteroid, to the point where the shuttle is forced to make a crash landing on the surface.

What the Hell - he shifted the controls - his jaw tightening as he tried to dodge out of the way of the bullets. Or lasers. Or whatever it was. As for the crash landing -- well. He did the best he could to keep them all alive.

Hold your ground! The pirates who shot you down are swarming the shuttle and busting their way in; there are a lot of them, and they are heavily armed. Good news, though; their weapons aren't deadly! But they do pack a powerful tranquilizer; if you're shot, likely you're going down at some point.

[This is where Fenris really does his best. Close combat. The lyrium on his skin glows brightly, as he dodges fired weapons and knocks pirates down. He can't keep intangible indefinitely,
and when he needs to rest his power, he is susceptible to actually being shot.

At the moment, though, he seems to be holding his own pretty well.]

Once Tyrion confirmed the Shuttle wasn't going anywhere without some repairs, and Kaidan assured her everyone was more or less alright, she grabs her shotgun, holsters a pistol, checks her boot knife, and then lifts her shotgun and pushes out of the shuttle.

"We're not alone!"

She calls over her shoulder as the pirates start to swarm. It's not an overly excessive amount of people and aliens, but it's enough to outnumber them; Furiosa immediately drops to a knee, aims her shotgun, and waits for the first wave to get within range of her weapon before firing.

Wake up, buttercup! The advertisement hadn't lied about needing workers for the mine, but they were a little free with language about money; see they drew you out here with the paycheck, didn't they? But in actuality they're planning on working you far longer than a week and, well. Not paying you anything. While you're waiting for processing, maybe think of a way to get out of it?

Is Tyrion's groaning reply, as he tried to sit up. Well, he did sit up, then immediately regretted it before he went to lean over and vomit. Ugh.

Max growls a little, hands jerking at his sides before he scrambles to life; never leave it to him to wake up slow and painful -- he presses his back to the wall, eyes scanning wildly, fist raised but not quite lashing out yet without a true target. The wave of dizziness that hits him immediately after leaves him crumpling a little, falling to support himself on wobbling arms.

"What..." His memory is slowly returning as he touches his sore knee, his sore shoulder. Something had hit him there; it's warm under his hand.

Escape The Asteroid

Congrats, you freed yourselves from the cage! But in order to get to the shuttle you need a passcode and the guard you've managed to subdue knows where that passcode is being held. So conundrums you need to deal with; how do you get that passcode? And what do you do with the guard after the fact?

Boss Battle

Apparently the only guy who has the passcode is also the reigning crimelord for a three-asteroid syndicate that mines a specific rock that can either be used for medicinal purposes or - you guessed it - drug use. He just informed you the only way you're getting that passcode is through prying it from his cold, dead fingers.

Escape The Asteroid Redux

But wait - it seems a lot of the workers being held here to process the mineral were the original scientists doing research on the medicinal purposes of the rocks. You could leave now, or you could stay and clear out the rest of the pirates and return control of the asteroid and mineral's productions to people who give a shit about others!
