I guess? Honestly, I was actually stuck in a coma when it happened so I'm not sure what was going on right before the ships decided to head butt each other at fast speeds.

It's hard to say actually, some people never get one. [Very rare, but got to give the guy some hope!] Then others have them more often. I try not to think too much on things without any rhyme or reason. I tend to leave that to smarter people.

That's usually my play, but all the smart people I know sans one are back home, and he doesn't bloody remember me.

[ so he doesn't really have anyone to rely on but himself. the other allies he supposedly has (agent carter, the avengers) are unknown quantities who could potentially cause him more harm than good, so. ]

Really? I haven't met anyone I knew before coming here, but I imagine it must be really hard to not be remembered by a friend.

[ it sucks. he was so happy for about 5 seconds when he saw fitz - it's the best person he could have seen, him or coulson. they're the only two he feels he can trust with being on his side in regards to the other shield which means they're the only two he feels he can let go of all that crap around and focus on the task at hand. and fitz is brilliant, if anyone can figure out a way out of this mess it's fitz - particularly if his mind is clear.

except fitz has no idea who he is or the crap they keep going through and he has had it up to whatever counts as an exaggeratedly illustrative high when you're in space with things going wrong. ]

Any advice for a newcomer?

The way stations we come across? Whatever you do... don't eat the sandwiches in the vending machines. Unless you enjoy sitting on the toilet for the next three weeks.

[ from what he's glimpsed of the kitchen the ship seems fairly well stocked. he intends on cooking actual meals, thanks. and, of course, he's happy to share so long as people pitch in on purchasing groceries. ]

Well, I feel safer already. [No he doesn't, but he doesn't feel any less safe either? It was odd to find something who didn't have six different weapons on them rather than not.]

Although generally things are pretty quiet around here so hopefully you won't need it.

[ he's got abducting aliens to shoot, a life to get back to. sure, it's falling apart of late, but that doesn't mean he's ready to call it quits and live out his life as a reality star.

I've heard the shooting range. [Hard to not know the sound of gunfire. Even if some of the newer weapons don't have the same smell of grease and gunpowder he can usually instantly recognize.] I wasn't sure if it was being maintained privately so I admit, I haven't used it myself.

[ busting out would be harder if all these prisoners choose to take their jailers' side. not that he wouldn't shoot them to get out of here if he must, mind you, it would just be a pain.

but it's true, lance is a bit of a hothead. he's pissed off and looking for someone to take it out on. ]

Where do you practice then? If you haven't fired in over two years you should definitely not be packing that.
