[ well done, mate! it is a bit of an odd ship, after having been merged, so there are some things to see here, at least. the garden in the cargo hold is of particular interest to lance; he's never tried to cook with kelp before, but he will figure it out.

he's aware of the presence approaching him the moment fitz's feet bring him into the hallway, but he doesn't turn. he has his gun on him, there are plenty of occupants on this ship, he's expecting fitz and the soup really could use a good stir about now. he's alert, but he doesn't let it show, not wanting to make fitz feel any unnecessary unease, should it prove to be him.

right now, the quirky scientist is all the backup he has.

when he speaks at last, hunter turns to grin at him. ]

No, you made it right before the stampede, well done. Here - [ he dips his spoon into the soup and brings it back up full of orange goodness ] try this - careful, it's hot.

[ he will have to take a look around a little later, see what differences the merge brought about for the ship. it's not really something in the forefront of his mind right now, however. between the smell of actually good food, and this awkward situation he currently finds himself in... well the strange merged ship deserves more of his attention than he can currently give it.

fitz approaches hunter as he looks around the kitchen. honestly, that's mostly so he doesn't stare at his new acquaintance in an attempt to figure out how they might end up as friends in the future. yes, he's gotten details here and there but it's just... odd.

he leans in to first smell the soup (it smells really good) and then tentatively takes a taste of it. and then his eyes go a little wide with mild surprise ]

This is actually really good.

[ he's not surprised that the food actually tastes good, nothing like that. it's more like the fact that it's real food. yes, he's had real food since getting here but still ]

How was your time aboard the Marsiva? Were there many with you?

[ he didn't exactly spend much time there himself before getting assigned to the bishop.

it's funny. all the talking they did about shield and the like over the devices when hunter first got there, suddenly he feels like he has to work up to it now that he's actually face to face with the man ]

Of course it's good, I take offence to that tone.

[ he turns off the heat and covers the pot while he gets the mushroom sorted on the...wheat solid. not as good as toast, but still not half bad. ]

Dull. And - full of weirdos. There was a girl with the pinkest hair I've ever seen and an expression that's something straight out of a horror movie - a fella in full armor and I don't mean SHIELD standard issue - he's around here somewhere if you want a look - he was looking for ladders to get out of a spaceship, so I wouldn't get to attached - a suspiciously nervous kid rambling on about things that would seem crazy before I joined up and well - ended up in space - and another strange girl. It was a looong week, speaking of, don't think I've forgotten that beer you promised me.
