[ he always worries about everything for extremely long amounts of time. the fact that he never met reid made the guy all the more horrifying and unreachable. she hasn't compared them out loud in months, but from time to time he still wonders if she does it in her head and keeps it to herself to spare his feelings (his feelings appreciate it if she does because he would be devastated. he doesn't want to know. let him live in ignorant bliss. he can live with being second choice, as long as it's not shoved in his face and the first choice never shows up again). ]

[Winn is first choice. Winn is first, second, third, fourth... well, he's the top ten of choices. She loved Reid. She wanted a life and a future with Reid. She was so ready for something better and meaningful in her life that she grabbed on to something that was maybe never quite right. Or maybe it was and the wardens messed it up and they couldn't fix it. She doesn't care anymore. Well, that's not exactly it. She cares, but she's not interested in reliving it or relitigating it. It was good. It went bad. And if she saw him again she would still be every bit as much in love with Winn and want him to be beside her for whatever the rest of her life holds. Some part of her may always be a little scarred by what happen. Some part of her will always care about the profiler. But she had to make room for Winn and she did. If a fleeting thought appears and and there she just lets it go again.]

[ he's gotten much better at confidence; he trusts kitty, doesn't freak out when handsome men hang around her anymore. but someone she was in love with, that's different. and meeting chekov, hearing him mention reid as well it just reminds him how real and how strong it was and it's not a risk he wants to take.

[If Reid—especially an earlier version not remembering everything bad—showed up, she can't say things wouldn't be hard, but leaving Winn wouldn't even be a question. She'd just want to be friends somehow and they'd have another awkward man in her life. It's not something she meant to have happen and certainly not something she wants to cause Winn stress or worry over. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't.]
