Hello everyone! For those who don't know me, I'm Allen Walker, I'm one of the medics aboard the SS Blue Fish. I just have a couple announcements for today!

We'll be holding our bimonthly blood drive this weekend. The blood donated is kept for medical emergencies that require blood transfusions. In other words, we use scientific methods to help someone whose lost a lot of blood. If you donate, we'll gladly pay you!

If you're interested and are over the age of 16, please fill out the form attached to this video. [And what do you know, it's there] If you're interested in volunteering, please let me know. Vampires and similar beings need to be able to have restraint around blood and will not be allowed to sample the blood. The blood drive will be held on the SS Blue Fish, as usual.

And as always, there will be cookies to anyone who volunteers or donates!

Secondly, you're probably all aware by now that the popular past time in this system revolves rock music. Rock music is very good and can be very entertaining, but please keep in mind safety precautions when you are, um, rocking out. As in, remember to wear ear plugs if you're going to a loud concert or performing, don't wear any clothing that might be a safety hazard, and no matter how "metal" you think it look, do not set any instruments in use on fire.

Ah, yeah...you know the thing the put into our heads?

Sometimes it malfunctions. And since it's connected to our brain and nervous system, it can cause all sorts of strange problems. Mood swings, impulse control, powers going awry, and...sometimes people turning into children?

I don't have a scientific explanation for that last one.

[ Yuri instinctively touches it, his expression going cold and dark before he relaxes once more. ]

Planned malfunctions. No wonder.

Planned or they're incompetent enough to attach faulty tech to us.

I don't know which would be worse.

If that were true, we would have found a way to leave already.

Mm, if you say so.

Do you really believe it's faulty tech?

I don't know which one it is, honestly.

It just seems like oddly convenient faulty tech.

[He shrugs]

Maybe it is.

I don't know. I tend to stay out of those discussions.

Which discussions do you stay in then?

Medical, Exorcisms things, food. I like movies too.

[He offers a shrug]

I've been stuck in places like this for over 9 years. After awhile, you just get tired of hearing the same talk, over and over.

Then you don't want to head home?

That's not really an option for me anymore.

It makes sense for priorities to change.

Especially when memories tend to be erased when you leave these places.

[9 years...that's a lot of his life to forget]

Tend to be, but not always, I'm guessing.

Mm. But keeping memories is very rare.

Rare doesn't mean impossible.

[He can't help it, there's a visible eyeroll from Allen. He's dealt with this attitude so many times over the years.]

Yes. And I'm sure there's something special about you that'll make you the exception to the rule, of course.

After all, you still remember after being shuffled along place to place, right?

I remember one place before here: Paradisa.

But I don't remember any places called Marina Novas, or Adstringdeum, or Exsilium ... and I've had people insist I was at those places too.

So no, even I'm not a complete exception to the rule.
