[ she's beating the air with a towel to clear the smoke. Nothing's on fire, Captain, but the cupcakes are toast ]

[Fenris sure is rushing into the kitchen at the sound of the alarms going off. Just in case there's...well, an actual fire. Not that he really knows what to do with an actual fire. Fight it???. But he feels it's probably part of his job description to check.

When he sees the kitchen is not, in fact, on fire, he relaxes a little.]

...I am going to assume they aren't supposed to look that way.

Cooking Disaster

[ Well, it looks like he came at the right time. Or.. the worst time, if Kara cares about posterity. The smoke alarms are worrying, but that typically means someone is nearby it, right? He hurries to the kitchen and peers in, stifling a cough on the smoke that tries to fill the kitchen. ]

I don't know much about cooking, but I think the food is done before that particular alarm goes off.

[ Bucky just leans a bit on the door frame, glancing around the kitchen. He's got a small box in one hand. It looks suspiciously like a dessert box. ]

[ she uses her ice breath to cool the pan off before depositing on the counter with a sigh ]

That's my understanding too. I don't know where it went wrong.

Lucky I came prepared.

[ He holds the box out to her, a few dozen sweet potato truffles. It's been a while since they've managed to find a decent place that does dessert, so he needs to make up ground. ]

[Pavel, now into his second month in the Fleet, is really starting to come to terms with this new reality television universe. He still doesn't love his circumstances, but hiding in his bunk and thinking too much has largely been rotated out of his schedule. In its place? Working and stocking the Tourist's kitchen with potatoes, beets, and vodka (the three main food groups). Help him figure out where to stash a hundred potatoes and three bottles of vodka!

Or, you know, run into him doing something else. He lives here, he's around.]

I have heard that you tried to burn down the ship. Is that true?

No, never busy. [Or. Sometimes he's busy, but at the moment he's just settling on a place to keep the vodka that's public enough to indicate that he's fine with sharing without being too inviting.] What can I do?

After Winn's departure

[ Kara is cleaning her office. For the time being she has things sorted into piles: trash/recycle, things Kara keeps, things that go to Kitty, things that go to Hank. She's not using any of her powers (well, not many. sometimes she needs to double check what's inside a box or folder) since getting it done isn't really the point.

Once everything is in respective piles, she starts wiping everything down, top to bottom, really getting into the cleaning. it's not that she wants to erase that this was Winn's space, but she doesn't want to preserve it out of guilt or sentiment, either. He's not dead, he's just gone, and maybe dealing with his workshop room will help her work through how she feels about that.

So far, still pretty crummy.

If you call her, she'll answer, some dust and grime on her face from the cleaning, and if you pop your head into her office, it may take her a moment to notice you're there, so focused is she on the work. ]

[Chekov gives the doorway a light knock.]

Kara? I have something for you.

[ she was really into what she was doing so she starts just very slightly when he knocks, and her automatic reaction is a smile ]

Oh! Pavel, hi. You have something for me?

[Fenris is used to loss. Between here and Exsilium, he has lost plenty. But this feels different, perhaps because Winn is different. A piece of their family has been torn away from them, and this... this is not fair.

He comes across Kara and her cleaning and stays by the doorway for a small while, watching her quietly. Eventually, he does speak, breaking the silence. ]

Do you need some help?

[ Kara is very subdued for her, but she smiles (though perhaps it could also be described as a grimace) ]

No, thank you. I think I've got it. I'm probably wrapping up soon, anyway.
