I would think it's somewhat slow and odd to the tastes of many, considering the style they enjoy. But I must have appreciation enough if I've been invited to play.

Hey, sometimes people want music that's a bit slower than some of the other music I've heard played around the asteroids. Something to relax a bit more to after a bunch of partying.

Or maybe he's a really big fan of yours regardless of the type of music you play. That he can see the skill behind the music.

Well, I'm not saying slap me for merely asking, but I'm pretty sure the rules of the situation say you can always politely decline a dance if you don't like dancing. And then slap someone if they don't take a polite no for an answer.
