Who: Barry Allen + You
Broadcast: Video, Fleetwide
Action: The Marsiva
When: May 8, 2017
[Passengers on the may have gotten brushed past by a burst of wind and a flash of red and gold lightning earlier in the day, but Barry isn’t stopping for anyone, unfortunately. As wide and expansive as the ship is, there isn’t really enough room for him to build up enough speed to do anything, and he doesn’t know what it is that Savitar did, but he can’t be stuck here. Not with what’s coming. Not with what he just saw.
But eventually in futility comes acceptance, and he decides that if he’s going to be stuck here, he might as well play along. The young man that appears on the screen looks flustered and disoriented from the get go, a clear expression of confusion and needing to be anywhere but here, larger problems weighing on his shoulders than there should be. He certainly doesn’t look happy to be here, but he’s trying to pull it together, if for no other reason than it’s clear he’s being watched.]
So, hey everybody. I’m Barry. I’m … new, I guess. I’m from Central City, if that means anything to anyone, and at home, I work – or worked – for the CCPD as a CSI.
[There’s a moment as he tries to figure out what to say next, before his eyes close and he loses it. To be fair, he lasted at least two minutes longer than he thought he would.]
Okay, wait, I can’t do this. Seriously? We’re stuck on some kind of space reality TV show and I’m just supposed to play nice and do whatever? No, I’m sorry, that’s a load of … crap.
[The frustrated way the word is forced out indicates that there’s another thing he really wanted to say there, but, you know, he’s on TV. And he doesn’t use those words. Usually.]
I never agreed to be a part of this, I didn’t sign a release or a contract or anything like that, so I want to go home. Now. Or I’ll force my way out.
[Barry … don’t do that. Please don’t be that dumb. And with that the transmission will just end because that is enough of that.]

Barry! Hi! Oh my Rao, I can't believe you're here!? I mean, I can, in that I'm here and it's not a huge stretch to assume that you'd end up here eventually, and of course I'm not pleased you're here in that it means you're stuck here but also it's really good to see you and I missed you and I think that if anyone can figure out what the heck is going on, it's you and me and Winn and Cisco!

[One of the few things that could have thrown him from his angry tirade is the face of a friend and while he's momentary surprise at her being there makes him miss part of that ramble, there's a small sag of relief at the fact that right now he isn't alone.]
... Wait, Winn and Cisco are here too?

[Helpful? Also, there's no recognition with Mon-El here. He hasn't lived through any musical-adjacent antics yet.]

I'm not usually the throw people under buses kind of guy.
[Contrary to his above statement, he doesn't actually want to hurt anyone.]
I just want to go home.

Force your way out? You can do that!? Amazing.
no subject
[Does he actually have a plan for that (empty) threat? Not at this moment. But he's going to definitely try to force his way out of here if he can. All he needs is enough space - maybe he can get back into the speed force again and use that to get home.]
Give me enough time and I can probably figure it out.

Fate, or kismet, or whatever divine intervention must've brought them together this soon. The Fleet brings people in randomly, or so Iris had believed when she first arrived. She would have to make the most of a life in outer space without Barry (and see what the fuss about this upcoming ball would be), but then she hears his voice on the comm and all lackluster plans are thrown out the window.
She leans forward, just to see him better, and gives him her warmest smile. She knows, deep down, it won't calm him down, but there's only so much she can do from the other side of a camera. ]
That would play right into their hands, Bar. [ There's a silent, unspoken plea in there: his identity is too important for him to lose on day one. Still, she knows him like the back of her hand, and she know how much he sucks at waiting. ] Though as usual, your timing is impeccable.
no subject
The minute he hears her voice it's as though everything snaps into focus and all might just be right with the world again. The last moments he remembers of her is standing in front of Savitar, watching the blade go through her chest, but on the video she's alive.
She's breathing. She's smiling at him, as though nothing's happened and they hadn't just been kidnapped to outer space, and he needs to know for sure if this is real.]
Where are you? I need to see you. Are you on the Marsiva?

Sorry, buddy. Looks like Central City's a hot place to pull people from at the moment. [ ... ] Someone else has probably already told you that this isn't the kind of show you need to sign a release for.

[Seeing Iris does take him down several notches on the panic scale, so the Barry Kate gets is a bit more reasonable than the Barry above, so at least there's that.]
On both counts. Sorry for my little ... panic attack up there.

When he speaks he has this odd little smile on his face. Like he's trying to be friendly even if his words are entirely.]
If you force your way out, won't that cause a vacuum that will threaten the lives of everyone else on The Marsiva?
I'm asking because I'm currently there as well but I'm new to space travel and don't know for sure. All of the movies I've seen about it seem to say that opening a hole in the hull of a space ship is bad news.
no subject
[In case you haven't noticed, he's having A Day. He sighs and runs a hand over his face. His friends have talked him down a smidge so now he mostly just feels like an idiot.]
The people who decided to interdimensionally kidnap me just had really bad timing.

Unfortunately, he highly doubt Barry knows him; he looks rather young still, and the matter of timelines would likely be an issue even if conscription into this particular fleet didn't span time and universe anyway.
Still. He'd much rather have Barry Allen on his side than against it, which is all the more reason for Rip to respond to the feed.]
While I do agree that this is indeed an utter load of crap, any attempts to force your way out likely won't have the results you desire.
[Unless Barry has reached a point to control his speed to cross time and space alike--while starting in a technologically subpar spaceship.
Rip is skeptical.]
no subject
As you said, Rip. He's still fairly young.
That being said, he's calming down a bit now that he's at least spoken to Iris and Kara and things are less messed up than they were twenty minutes ago.]
Yeah, I'm getting that. I've just had a really bad day. Which I'm not unique to, I know that.

[Contrary to the break down he had up there, if other people were kidnapped like he was, he can imagine how they are less than pleased with the situation.
And there will be a pause as he skims the information provided.]
Thanks for the additional info though.

I'd say it gets better, like those youtube PSAs, but I'm not sure I've been here long enough to be qualified to say that. Most of the time, I try to forget the reality television show part of things.
no subject
Is that easy to do? Given that they're sort of watching our every move?

[ You know, in case you didn't know, dude. Not to mention there might be others on there with you. ]

No! No, no, no that wasn't what I was going to try at all. I wouldn't want anyone else to get hurt.

[ he looks just about the same, hair a little longer and dressed in one of the jumpsuits the lockers provide. ]
You're one hell of a sight for sore eyes.

Same, dude. Kara told me you were here.
[There's a deep breath, because he definitely does not like being stuck in one place.]
Are you with Iris on the First Breath?
[Maybe when he's finally released into the wild, he can meet up with both of them.]
video;
[ he'll get to the whole hey I-know-you-do-you-know-me routine later, first objective is to keep him and everyone else on board the marsiva safe. ]
