[action ~ first breath]
[Somewhere, many many Earths away, Barry Allen says goodbye to his family and the woman he loves and steps through into the speed force. All that really exists in the speed force is running, so that's what he does - he runs, as fast as he can and as far as he can, until he doesn't have to run anymore.

And on December 1st, in his room on the First Breath, Barry opens his eyes for the first time in thirty days. It's disorienting at first, not knowing immediately where he is or that he's not in the speed force anymore, so he instinctively does the first thing he can think of - he runs. He blazes through the halls of the ship in an endless look, a burst of red and god lightning that can't be caught and disrupts everything around him.

Pro: He is not running fast enough to accidentally phase himself through the hull of the ship and out to die in the vacuum of space, nor is he phasing through doors into private areas he shouldn't be in.

Con: Pretty much everything is getting blown everywhere, because running at superspeed is not subtle or unnoticeable.

Eventually he'll skid to a stop or someone will stop him but apologies to the other members of the crew - you're all getting quite the wake up call this morning.]

[And after he is caught, calmed down, and realizes where he is, he'll eventually make his way back to his bunk to try and reorient himself in general. Which is when an awkward looking Barry will appear over a network because he has a very important question to ask that probably shouldn't wait.]

So, hey guys. Sorry about being radio silent but I was ... out for a while. A really long while.

[That's mostly an apology to Kara and Mon-El - he doesn't really think anyone else beyond his crew was looking for him. He needs to be better at making friends.]

Anyway - has anyone else had one of those weird coma dreams where they go home and actually live some of their life and come back again? And if so, am I the only one who finds that super weird and disorienting, or can we all agree that that pretty much sucks?

[And here is Barry! Looking less worrisome than when the fleet first met him, but still trying to figure out his way around this place.]

Hi, guys. It's Barry. I was wondering if there were any food specialists, or scientists, or food scientists around who might be able to do me a favor.

For those who don't know, I have a super high metabolism which results in me needing to eat like, ten thousand calories a day, which is really bad in enclosed areas like the ships where there are limited supplies and multiple people that need to share them. But, my buddy Cisco, who some of you may remember from when he was here, built me these high calorie protein bars so I can eat like a normal human and still get all the calories I need.

Cisco's not here now, but in those baskets that we got from Atroma, I got a few of those bars as a gift, and I was wondering if anyone here might be able to reverse engineer them somehow? If you could I would be incredibly grateful. I can even pay you for them, and they might be helpful for the fleet as a whole, since I know I'm not the only one here with ... metabolism issues.

[He's not going to out them publically, but the Kara (and possibly Mon-El?) know who they are.]

So hit me back if you're interested. Thanks.

[and with that, it's bye bye Barry.]

[Passengers on the may have gotten brushed past by a burst of wind and a flash of red and gold lightning earlier in the day, but Barry isn’t stopping for anyone, unfortunately. As wide and expansive as the ship is, there isn’t really enough room for him to build up enough speed to do anything, and he doesn’t know what it is that Savitar did, but he can’t be stuck here. Not with what’s coming. Not with what he just saw.

But eventually in futility comes acceptance, and he decides that if he’s going to be stuck here, he might as well play along. The young man that appears on the screen looks flustered and disoriented from the get go, a clear expression of confusion and needing to be anywhere but here, larger problems weighing on his shoulders than there should be. He certainly doesn’t look happy to be here, but he’s trying to pull it together, if for no other reason than it’s clear he’s being watched.]

So, hey everybody. I’m Barry. I’m … new, I guess. I’m from Central City, if that means anything to anyone, and at home, I work – or worked – for the CCPD as a CSI.

[There’s a moment as he tries to figure out what to say next, before his eyes close and he loses it. To be fair, he lasted at least two minutes longer than he thought he would.]

Okay, wait, I can’t do this. Seriously? We’re stuck on some kind of space reality TV show and I’m just supposed to play nice and do whatever? No, I’m sorry, that’s a load of … crap.

[The frustrated way the word is forced out indicates that there’s another thing he really wanted to say there, but, you know, he’s on TV. And he doesn’t use those words. Usually.]

I never agreed to be a part of this, I didn’t sign a release or a contract or anything like that, so I want to go home. Now. Or I’ll force my way out.

[Barry … don’t do that. Please don’t be that dumb. And with that the transmission will just end because that is enough of that.]
