Who: Aizawa & you
Broadcast: text
Action: Starstruck, if so desired!
When: late at night, before the ball
Since we seem to have a fair amount of people from worlds where 'super powers' exist, let me ask something for the sake of sating curiosity: power use regulation by government. Thoughts?
Go ahead and respond to this anonymously if you like, I'm just looking for opinions.
[ Action ]
[aizawa is almost always in the med bay these days, organizing and reorganizing, writing down what looks like curriculum and schedules and trying to brush up on his mathematics.
on the rare occasion that he's not on the starstruck, he can be found on any of the asteroids with shops, looking for...a tuxedo. or an approximation of one, anyway. he doesn't seem very enthusiastic about it, but it's hard to find something in a humanoid shape that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.]

it's hard to imagine a world where it's not regulated. everyone with powers are vigilantes or something?

Did your middle school cover any world history prior to the golden age?

[Partly curious if there are any suggestions as even with a bounty of sixty billion on his head and living on a lawless planet where most everyone owns a couple guns hasn't stopped himself yet. And he's not even a bad guy!
At least not on purpose.]permatext

As for the regulating itself. That would also depend on what kind of powers the world has. It just seems like trying regulate what powers can or can't be used seems like a slippery slope.
[There's a tap or two for a pause before he adds.]
After all, just as an example, powers used in a way that might end someone's life seems like it would be covered by general laws that already exist for someone who has powers or don't.

[No one can do that, Donut.]
Seems weird t'me to go putting a limit on powers above and beyond what laws you already got about killin' or harmin' people. Just 'cause you got a power don't mean you're gonna turn into some murderin' psychopath, after all. Just like how just 'cause you got fists don't mean you're gonna go punchin' whoever the hell you want for no reason.

The governments fell, but before that there were talks of a registry and containment camps.

There was a lot of talk like that when quirks first showed up for us, too.

[Would Apocalypse have risen to power if they'd been welcomed and accepted?]
I know you went from minority to majority very quickly, but how did that talk resolve itself?

It feels safer, probably, or they'd like for it to feel safer, even if in reality it highlights their lack of safety. So you go from right hand to left hand to binding both the legs. The hope is always safety.
From what I understand.
