The party goes on well into the night with no sign of slowing. It’s very late into the night before there’s a good opening to slip away without notice. But eventually the opportunity finally comes, and hopefully before you’ve had too many visits to the open bar.

But for anyone who came to the party with the intention to take part in the heist, it’s time to get down to business.

P'raps. [She grins widely and waves an arm around.] Man, why is it every time we have a conversation these days you're just assuming the... the worst in me? 'm perfectly sober.

It's less an assumption and more the fact you were about to walk into a wall. I'd rather you not do that.

[namisan]

Oh. Well, if you'd rather I didn't, then I won't. [Mildly, and with less of a slur in her speech now that she's approaching the hallway.]

Surprised to see you here, actually. Didn't think parties were your thing.

[This is a perfectly innocent statement. Really.]

How utterly altruistic of you.

[He notes the change in her speech, brow furrowing. No one sobers up that quickly. ]

They aren't. I'm here for another reason.

[namisan]

What a coincidence. [Having reached the corridor proper, she drops the act completely.] So am I, actually. Though I appreciate the assist.

[She promises, she's in full control of all her faculties.]

[wolfuncaged]

[Well, well. His eyebrow raises, and a smile crosses his face. ]

Consider me impressed. That was some very convincing acting.

[Nami grins widely.] Years of practice. Did you have a plan from here?

[wolfuncaged]

Not really. I am here as muscle, should it be needed, which I have no doubt it will. I can't see this going smoothly.

[Where would you all be without his positive outlook on everything? ]

[namisan]

It never goes smoothly. Though I guess I should count myself lucky there are certain people I know that aren't here this time around. [Luffy at this party. Oh god.]

Have you got a way of getting outside unseen? I can help out if you don't. [--although. She hesitates, studying him a moment.] It's not magic, but it's a bit...weird.

People you would rather not make a mess of things?

[He knows a few like that. ]

I can pass through walls, that is always a more simple way out. [He says that awkwardly, like it's some sort of horrible disfigurement- which of course to him it is. ] So... how weird is it?

[namisan]

Pretty much yeah.

[She's always wondered why he has such an issue with magic, but she's not going to ask here.]

It's science. Basically, I have a weapon that can hide people from view. Limited to the weapon's range, of course.

[wolfuncaged]

[Wise choice on her part, really. Still, science, he can live with. He doesn't hate science. ]

So it provides invisibility?

[namisan]

Yup. Something you could make use of?

[I mean, if you can pass through walls that's pretty awesome, but maybe 'because science' is more palatable.]

[wolfuncaged]

Perhaps. I am certainly not stealthy enough on my own, but invisibility would be...helpful.

[namisan]

Then I can be helpful. [She turns away discreetly to fish the three parts of her weapon out from under the hem of her dress. Thigh holsters are great things.] You'll have to stick close, though. It's an area effect-- bends light away from where we are. Like a mirage.

[wolfuncaged]

[So sneaky, Nami. ] You would make a fine rogue.

[He absolutely means that as a compliment. ]

Clever, that could indeed be very useful.

[namisan]

[She definitely takes it as one.] I'd hope so. I spent most of my life stealing from pirates before I decided to become one.

[Annnd with a sweep of the staff... absolutely nothing seems to change. May have got a degree or so cooler, though.] You ready?

[wolfuncaged]

Have you met Isa- Summer yet? She is in the Fleet. I am sure she would find you entertaining. ...No, wait, I think she is going by Grace these days.

[Isabela, pick a damn name, it's hard to keep track. He looks around the, frowning a little.]

Ye..s? Is it working?

[namisan]

I have, actually. [Her grin is wide as hell, but she keeps her voice down.] We worked together a lot here. Talked a little about you. Has she changed her name again, then? I knew her as Summer. [But it was pretty damn obvious that was fake.]

And it is. [Though she knows it's practically impossible to tell when you're hiding behind a literal blanket of cold air.] Just stick within a foot or two of me as we leave and it'll be fine. And it doesn't block sound.

[Just FYI. Then she turns and meanders casual as you please up the hallway.

If it helps, nobody she passes so much as glances at them. We can pick up this conversation again in another ten seconds.]

She does that a lot. Change her name. She is...something like the sea she loves so much. Ever changing on her own whims, and no one else's.

[And he does sound found of her. He and Isabela may not have a great romance back home, but he still sure as hell cares about her a lot, and respects her deeply. ]

[He's about to reply, but then she says that, and he nods, slipping itno silence as he walks behind her. This is...actually pretty clever. And not magic, so it's ok. ]

[Nami waits until they've passed the various people in the hallway and turn off to quieter areas before speaking again, mostly to let Fenris know it's safe.]

I like her. It sounds like my captain would, too.

[wolfuncaged]

[He smiles, as she speaks again. ]

If your captain is found of recklessness and a complete lack of boredom, then I imagine they would. She's certainly an...experience.

[namisan]

...yeah, I think they might be a little too alike on that score. Though I think Summer's got more subtlety.

Which isn't hard. At all.

Hah, I never thought I would hear her name and subtle in the same sentence. He must be...very difficult to work with, you have my deepest sympathies.

[For someone offering 'deepest sympathies' he sure sounds amused. ]

[She flashes a grin at him. Luffy's a damn moron sometimes, but she wouldn't have him any other way.]

Well, he'd hate places like this, so I'll just be glad for his sake he never stayed. Unlike the two of us, apparently.
