Since he got assigned to a ship already!
Who: Yuri and YOU!
Broadcast:Network-unfiltered
Action: On the Twin Roses
When:After the shuffle
[When the video comes on this time, Yuri has a different background behind him and he looks calmer. He's more energetic and his voice sounds more confident as he begins.]
Hello again, everyone. Thanks to everybody who reached out to me when I first got here. I'm on the Twin Roses now so if you want to find me, here I am! In the meantime, I guess we should all figure out something to do here. This ship is pretty nice and all but I wonder if there's a place someone can skate? Victor didn't mention any place he found yet so maybe someone else knows a place to ice skate. Or dance. That would work too!
What do you do around here, guys? What's the best thing?

2263.
[ Totally straight face. It's easy because he's not lying. ]
Well, it's an Earth, but we're part of the United Federation of Planets, and the HQ for Star Fleet, which is whom I worked for before I was brought here. It's a space exploration and humanitarian organization. So, Earth is peaceful, for the most part, but most of the politics now involve dealing with interplanetary trade and immigration.
I couldn't say what's important at the moment - I hadn't been back in three years before I came here.

Twenty... two..... oh god.
Wait wait... so... You're from the future. Humanity goes to space. That's... that's good.
We know aliens. There are aliens?? [This is a bigger deeper conversation than he expected to have here.]
So you live on another planet or...?

[ Is it really that astonishing, Yuri? Goodness. He didn't break you did he? He thinks he did. ]
A future, yes. I can't say if it will be your world's future or not. But yes, we do get into space.
[ He laughs at that. ]
Yes, there are aliens. Many of them. In fact, my first mate on my ship back home is an alien - a Vulcan, to be precise.
And now, my home is my ship - the U.S.S. Enterprise. I've been exploring unknown space for three years, which is why I've been gone for so long.

Yeah? Maybe it is though... there's no way for us to know, though, right?
You have aliens on your ship? A vulcan? What is a Vulcan, are they... well they must be peaceful if you have one in your crew.
Wow, you just explore space? Like are you mapping it? What's your ship like? Is it fun being in zero gravity?

They're a logic loving race. They eschew feeling and make every decision and action based on the 'logic' of a matter. They've excelled in the sciences and maths for that reason, though that's not to say they don't also have music and other forms of culture. It's really quite impressive and fascinating. They look like humans too, except their ears are pointed - like an elf's. And their organs are in different places, and their blood is green not red - more copper than us.
[ More laughs, enjoying the questions. ]
Yes, I just explore space. We find new planets and determine if they have life, if we can interact with it, and if we can determine if they want to be part of the Federation. We find new animal and plant life and minerals - all sorts of things and send that information back to the Federation, and also bring those developing planets under our protection.
As for my ship? Well, it's quite a bit larger than anything here. I have around 400 crew, and we have multiple decks. We're a Constitution class vessel, which is one of the bigger types. And the ship has artificial gravity - set to Earth standard. Floating around in zero grav is pretty harsh on the body, so gravity simulation is the best for overall crew health. Not to mention it keeps away the space sickness.
[ There was that all the questions? He's sure he got them all. ]
