[Early in the evening, a teenage girl's supremely pissed-off face appears in the sightline of the camera, close enough to screw with the focus. She's got a red-lipsticked scowl, and an expression that says she's just damn tired of this.]

I swear the next "Welcome to purgatory, you're in for life, enjoy your stay" spiel I hear? Someone's getting a kick in the gut. All I want's a taco and the first flight back to New York. Otherwise, don't even bother.

[You can find her on the Hospitality Deck for some time afterwards, looking about as pleased as a wet cat. She's twirling around a wand in one hand, shuffling her brain for any kind of spell that could get her out of here. But none of the likely contenders are working, and as spell after spell fizzles and dies, her muttering is getting louder and more angry.]

Like a really horrible nightmare-come-true. I'd rather have wound up basically anywhere else.

I hear you there. I'd be the last person I'd imagine doing things to entertain an audience enough for rewards. If this were Survivor I'd probably be the first off the island.

Second, 'cause I'd be way ahead of you. I don't do islands anymore.

Or they'd do a double elimination and we'd be thrown off together. Believe me, I absolutely suck at wilderness survival... so I think I'll take the space reality show instead. At least we don't get voted off here.

I grew up in New York City, I barely know what wilderness is. This one time I had to, like, trek across Puerto Rico? I swear I almost died every two minutes.

I grew up in the boonies of Wisconsin, but even then... the only time I went to summer camp, I got so lonely my parents had to come and get me. So I'm pretty much the worst reality star ever.

Oh man, that sounds bleak. Summer camp and Wisconsin? Gag me.

Oh, it wasn't that bad. It was what I was used to 'til I went to college, after all.

I'm more of the coffee shop, subway graffiti type. Fresh air gives me hives.

And when my parents left me in my dorm room, I thought I'd never not feel overstimulated. What a pair we make for True Life: I Was Abducted To Be A Reality Star, huh?

Likewise. It's nice to talk to someone who gets what I'm talking about- most people I've met so far come from completely different worlds and times than mine.
