Calibration Post 1, "Daytime"
[ Not long after the shuffle, there's a ripple of static over the network - loud, sudden, and seemingly with no origin. It's puzzling, but there's no indication that it's going to happen again...
Until a minute later. Another surge of static comes in over the speakers, and then a voice - one some may find familiar, though not necessarily welcome, after all of this time... It's Diamond. Long time no speak, hmm?
Clearly, not all is well. She sounds very far away, for one. For another, she sounds... skeptical, almost alarmed. There may actually be real concern in her voice. ]
Again? Twice in one c--
[ Her sentence is cut short with a strangled gasp, followed by a moment of silence. What follows may be the sound of metal dragged across metal, but it's hard to place. When she speaks again, it's uncharacteristically monotonous. ]
... Bring them in.
[ A blip of lost time passes right after those words, before every passenger mysteriously wakes alone in their own unfamiliar room. The style of decor resembles that of the Marsiva's Hospitality Deck, if any passengers should remember what that's like. It sounds and smells the same as the host ship as well, all clean and chrome, but this set of rooms has only been used once, and for the very same purpose that befalls the fleet contestants now.
As for their hosts, there is no immediate sign of them, though some may recall a series of hideous, half-electronic screams before their memories begin to blur upon arrival...
Welcome back to the Marsiva, dear passengers. It's time for round two of calibrations. ]
[ This mingle will cover all non-calibration room interactions. Please continue to come back to it for the duration of the plot! You are, of course, free to post any other mingles/posts/etc. that you'd like. ]

Or perhaps you’ve just experienced your first time in someone else’s head. What just happened? Do you talk about it, or furiously drown your concerns in the comforts provided?
See the event post for all room descriptions.]

That said, at least shelves on entertainment seem familiar-ish. Even more surprising, though, is the fact that there are titles that look familiar to him.]
Blasto Saves Christmas. [He reads has he takes it from the shelf.]
Oh come on, you guys couldn't at least have any new Blasto they made after we left the Milky Way? New Blasto films would be a galaxy wide treasure. [He's speaking to no one in particular. Don't mind him. He's still a little weirded out by this entire situation]
no subject
I have no idea what that is, but if 'Blasto' is considered high cinema circa space-travel, I'm afraid I need a lot more alcohol than what currently exists to get myself through it.

That's the first day, anyway. On consecutive days she'll be entertaining herself in a distinctly bloody-minded fashion in which anyone with an ounce of empathy will realise her cheerfulness is entirely brittle and she's too laser-focused on the TV, but. Good luck getting her reasons why.]

she'd made a snap decision about this man. had it been the wrong one? is this another dottie underwood, here to sneak under her good graces and take advantage of the trust she'd been willing to put in him? not merely the starstruck's kitchen, but he's had his nose poked into every other room aboard the ship...
maybe she should find another crewmate, first, and voice her concerns. but peggy's feeling too chagrined over the possibility that she could get something so wrong. so, sparing just enough time to get dressed and apply her lipstick, she searches through the halls until she finds the door with his name on it.
and whens he knocks, she knocks fiercely. ]
Re: closed » rip hunter
It feels like cruel mockery now, holding that item in his hand as he sits on the edge of his bed. Rip has been up as long as the Atroma have apparently allowed him to be--and it's rather funny to think that it's the longest he's slept at all lately. Yet equally he doesn't consider himself to feel rested; how can he, or anyone, after these nights spent fiddling inside someone else's mind?
The pounding on his door draws Rip's attention. He's tempted to brush it off; stay silent in a play to convince them he's out, or of the truth, that he doesn't wish to talk. Yet it's an insistent brand of knocking, so Rip hides the watch away--not cleverly, given that it's just stashed under a pillow--and gets up to open the door.
Enough to see who's out there, anyway. For them to see that he's still dressed in a tank top and the long trousers provided for when they sleep.]
Miss Carter. [He doesn't bother to hide the fact that he's irritated; even if it's not explicitly due to her presence, it does present him a rather good target.] Something I can help you with, this morning?

The real problem is that his name - his real name - is written plainly on the door to his room.
Sitting right where it shouldn't be seen.
The words "Okita Souji" emblazoned on his door. Which he is currently staring at with more than a little bit of mild displeasure.
This will certainly make things...awkward.]

For all appearances, despite the distance she isn't letting it show that all of this bothers her very, very deeply. In fact, if she happens to glance up and spot someone glancing at her, she'll even give them a little wave in greeting.
She's Totally Fine, nothing to see here]
Kitchen/or wherever
[Not having windows is unsettling. Not knowing where she is or what's going on double so, and seeing (mostly) strange faces and no familiar races outside of human is triple so. It's exciting, but not necessarily in a good way.]
[Peebee can be found anywhere (except the gym, boooooring), but most likely she'll be in the kitchen. For one, there's alcohol, but she's also going to be experimenting with the different protein pastes.]

NOOK
He'd gone quickly through the kitchen, grabbed something to eat, and made his way to one of the little nooks to sort of hide in plain sight. Part of him didn't want to be completely alone in his room, but he wasn't really feeling overly social at the moment, either. So he would just sit in here and eat unless someone came up to him to talk. He wouldn't ignore them or leave, but he might not be the best conversationalist at the moment.]

Living space | nook
If anyone wants to bug him, he can be found in the living area more often than not, picking through the vast music selection at one of the computer panels. He's got headphones on, of course, so he doesn't disturb anyone, but he'll gladly share with anyone else who's curious.
Otherwise... Eithan might actually be found in one of the nooks, off on his own, letting his mind wander to places it probably shouldn't - but damned if these stupid dream-things don't make him think about shit that doesn't need thinking about here. He's got a bottle of cheap space-beer next to him, but it looks like he hasn't touched it in a while. ... Someone want to pull him out of his angst? ]

gym | kitchen
She's either going to be in one of two moods. Mood one, she's just here to kill time, probably running on a treadmill or going through some basic combos with the help of one of those punching bags. She looks focused, but not too unapproachable (for her). Perhaps you'd like to join her in blowing off some steam?
Mood two, she's pretty fucking worked up. Her typical resting bitch face is more murderous than usual, and those punches she's throwing at the bag are a lot heavier, a lot more fierce. When she makes any move, it's with intent, and rather on the furious side. Proceed with caution.
And for those who wouldn't venture into the gym, it's also possible to find her in the kitchen. Don't mind her, she's probably just looking for a snack to go along with some booze. Any booze. All of the booze. Please for the love of fuck what does this place have? Ugh. ]

Vash the Stampede | OTA
Except it did. And he remembers.
He spends a lot of time hovering near the television in case their hosts eventually turn up like last time. Find him there, in his room, or just about anywhere. He'll greet anyone with a happy smile.]
Oh, why hey there! How are you doing?
[After their hosts DO show up... in a away and once the glitches start happening Vash will be one of those ones exploring the parts of the ship he can see. Being a pilot he starts playing with those black glasses around the ship. Only Vash can see the buttons and he's pressing away at them.
He's a bit distracted by his activity at first and he doesn't stop if someone will approach him at this point. He doesn't mean to be rude, he's just not sure how much time he will have to play with this computer before it's taken from him or locked up again.]
Oh... hey...

Chances are he's in one of the reading nooks as you pass, with a drink and an open book (some old Earth classic or another like Great Expectations or Moby Dick). If anyone notices he's little less apt to start conversations, staring fixedly at his text instead of greeting people. Like most, he's not keen to encounter anyone whose head he's been instead, or vice versa, but small living quarters are what they are]
various (see prompts)
[The routine of working out is a good way to keep himself focused. Or maybe less focused on all these strange dreams. He's trying not to let it get the best of him.
Consequently he'll be something of a regular in the gym area, lifting weights and sparring with the punching bag like it was maybe a little bit personal.]
B. after glitches (security/tactical)
[Kaidan's been a little more uneasy after the change in the Fleet's hosts, taking to patrolling around the halls between sleep and his still daily workout sessions, but it's not long until he notices the panels that simply WERE NOT there before.
He's been staring at this one in particular, near the edge of the living after. He's not really the random button pressing type, but there's really no other way to find out what this is.
After an input or two he sets off an alarm, and Kaidan winces, covering his ears and flinching away from the sudden assault of sound and color. He can only shield one ear while he pokes desperately at the panel to try and shut it off. Whether you can actually see what he's reacting to at all depends on your augment and maybe timing.]

As is often the case, when he's awake he flees the confines of the room as soon as he can to press himself against the closest window and look out, humming softly to himself. He seems otherwise well.
(He's rebuilding the threads of his control, carefully spinning the songs that will soothe his tattered mind back to quietness and the Oath back to sleep)
B: Rooms
He doesn't like the rooms on the Marsiva, too small. But you might find him outside of his anyway, tracing the letters of his name - he's been learning the script, here. He just finds it amusing they managed to get the whole of his formal name on the door.
Makalaure Canafinwe Maglor Feanorion isn't exactly short after all.
