[Does this look like a harassed clock with a human face? Does it? Good, because it's Cogsworth, sitting in front of a window on the Marvisa and he looks like he just swallowed about a half a dozen lemons. In his tiny brass hands he is holding a piece of paper, and he keeps fiddling with it, shifting it between his two hands.

He puts one brass hand up to his mouth, clears his throat, and then fumbles with the paper for a moment. Could he be ... nervous? It's possible.

Lips pressed together, the time hands on his face twitching, he states flatly.]

Hello. My name is Cogsworth and I am a ... [now he has to look at the word.] Ho-mo-sexual. I realize that I am a ... clock, but I assure you that I am not a ho-mo-sex-ual clock, but a ho-mo-sex-ual man. I have been ... told. Rigorously.

[Here he is glowering.]

That I need to ... 'embrace' this. So. If there are any ... individual males who would not mind ... being complimented by a ... human clock, then, ah. Please! Come forward.

[Okay he'll try a smile but it's more of a sheepish grimace at this point. God help him.]

[His expression goes soft.] Then I should introduce myself properly. My name is Khadgar, I'm a mage from a world called Azeroth.

I'm one of the mages in the fleet who volunteered to try to help break yours and Lumiere's curse. I don't know how successful our attempts will be but I'm sure we'll all do our best.

[Cogsworth's eyes slowly grow bigger as he listens, and an absolutely happy and hopeful expression covers his face. He grips his tiny brass arms together.]

Monsieur Khadgar, if you could manage to break this curse for us ... well. You would never meet two more grateful men in your life.

[And if he could break it for them, they could bring it home for everyone else! Hopefully.]

Just Khadgar, please. And I'll do my best to help. I need to study what I can about it though. Curses weren't exactly a topic of study where I was raised. And then hopefully the next system will have plants I can use to try to counter the effects.

[How to test it will be a problem. He can risk harming Cogsworth or Lumiere.]

Khadgar. Thank you, so much. We are both so ... so very grateful.

[He exhaled softly, pressing his tiny brass hands together.] Whatever we can do to help you, let me know.

I hope I don't disappoint.

[Smiling.] I mostly need to understand everything possible about the curse. Since I can't exactly study the environment, I can't study residual magic. Even small details might hold the key.

Even a chance of becoming human again ... to try will not disappoint us. Not trying at all, just existing like this? That is the intolerable part.

[He frowns faintly.] What has Lumiere told you?

He mentioned the fact that it was a curse, it's a decade old now- so there might not be enough residual magic left now that I think on it.

It was placed on your prince, the rest of you were caught in the crossfire, that it would be broken if he fell in love and was loved in return.

Originally, I thought to try severing the magical link but he would prefer it can be taken back. So a potion is probably the best course of action.

YesYes, that is correct. Over ten years now. Hmrph, of course - wait, what?

[Aaaah hm.] Well ... just to clarify, we weren't caught in the crossfire as much as ... we were cursed for letting him become such an awful brat.

[Blink, blink.] Oh no, do not do that! I mean I am glad that you will not. I am not sure what will happen to our friends and family if you do.

More likely than not, the curse would still affect them if I severed the magical link, and still be removed if the conditions were met.

Was there anything he neglected to mention? [He's grabbing his notes and quill.]

Well ... if it was safe, that would be all right.

[He frowns, waving his hand.] Did he mention the rose?

I wouldn't do anything if there was too great a risk. It's alright though, it might take a little longer to concoct a potion but not impossible. [He hopes.]

The rose? [He scribbles down a note.] I don't think he did.

Not ... impossible is all I could ask for, honestly.

[It was all either one of them could ask for. All of them, even the master.]

Well, the curse is centered around the rose. We have until the last petal falls to break the curse or we stay ... this way. Forever.

[Scribbling notes.]

Without it here, at least, the curse can't progress. Was there an incantation?

[Relief came over his small face at that.]

Not that I am aware of ... or at least not one that I personally heard.

Alright. We'll just go with there not being an incantation then.

[He just wants points of reference on everything he can get. And working out a couple theories.

Suddenly, he's glad he buys so little since he got here, he's going to practically raid the next system.]

Did anything else stand out?

No ... well except that breaking the curse is someone has to fall in love with the Master.

It's magic, a stipulation like that can be overcome with the right steps.

So ... so it can be broken without the Master having to fall in love?

It's going to take a lot of work, but I believe so. I need to find the right ingredients, it's probably in the arcane school of magic so I'd have to use that.

[He rubs at his face.] Testing the potion will be the hardest part. I can't risk harming you or Lumiere.

Well if you have to test it on someone, test it on me. Lumiere is ... not precisely the paragon of sturdiness.

[Oh Cogsworth, that is so incredibly noble of you.]

I'd rather neither of you chance being hurt or, worse, it backfiring and making you a clock forever.

[Yes! Well! He is a noble sort of fellow don't you know. Besides he wouldn't be able to stand the thought of Lumiere getting stuck as a candlestick for the rest of his life. The man had too much passion to be furniture.]

As I said, if you have to -- and please, please try not to have to? I will do it.

[Khadgar can definitely see the passion. And the friendship between the two men, it really makes him want to succeed.]

I won't do anything that puts anyone at risk. Don't worry. We'll find a way, you'll both be yourselves again. Somehow.

[Cogsworth clutches his little brass hands together, hope flashing through his face.]

Thank you, Khadgar.

Thank me when we've succeeded.

[He smiles, a little more confidently than he feels. Khadgar is very determined though.]
