Who: Pavel Chekov and anyone!
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Tourist and/or Iskaulit
When: From the Great Shuffle through July
[video]
It was kind of our hosts to give us gifts after keeping us on the Marsiva and making us share far, far too much with each other, but...
[The Russian pulls his lovely gift basket into view. In addition to the candies and fudge and pickled herring (he is grateful for all of these things, thank you space hosts), there are a few additional items that he is less amused by.]
Did anyone else find their choice in gifts, er... slightly insulting?
Although it was thoughtful of them, I admit, to provide a shirt [it says "I <3 bad boys," for the Russian speakers out there] for my girlfriend to wear once I grow her.
[Sarcasm. That was definitely sarcasm.]
[action]
[If Pavel isn't poking around his quarters on the Tourist, then he's going for a run on the Iskaulit. In either case, he is making no real effort to be sociable. It's not that he doesn't want to talk to people, it's just that there are a lot of things that he doesn't want to talk about. Everyone knows that the only sure way to avoid certain topics of conversation is to avoid talking entirely.
Any attempts on his part to keep quiet will fail miserably if he's approached. Being a person who likes other people is so hard sometimes.]
[ooc: If you, like me, wanted to do ALL of the Calibration things but grossly overestimated your ability to do so, you're welcome to browse Chekov's memories and handwave your character seeing any of the unmarked ones.]

super late action is super late
What happened to those fancy new shirts you got?
it's cool, I wasn't even here for a week
They are waiting for someone who isn't me to take them. Would you like one, sir?
Re: it's cool, I wasn't even here for a week
Am I Russian enough to own one?
[ He reached out and lightly poked at the other with his elbow - a light ribbing. ]
no subject
If you were more Russian than you are, you would be disqualified from owning one.
no subject
Oh, that's rather high praise! I don't think you've ever said anything nicer to me.
no subject
I have said much nicer things to you.
Would you like to take my new girlfriend as well? I don't think that we have much chemistry, her and I.
no subject
[ That raised his brows and he leaned forward a bit. ]
New girlfriend? When did you get a new girlfriend? Who is she?

[ He blinked and then howled with laughter. ]
Oh! You mean her-! I thought you meant...
[ He coughed to get his air back. ]
I'm sure she'll make you very happy, Pavel.
no subject
Oh yes. I'm sure that we have a wonderful future together.
[He tilts his head, curious.]
Who did you think that I meant?
no subject
[ He shrugged. ]
I thought you meant you had found someone new - like a new, living, breathing, girlfriend. Full grown.

[ He clapped his shoulder. ]
Well don't worry. I'm sure you'll come across someone soon. But to take your mind off it, we can go out when we make the next planet.
no subject
Where would we go? There may not be caves or temples to explore.
no subject
It's practically a suburban jungle, I'm sure we can find something. It might be better for our health to stay away from caves and temples this time anyways.
no subject
[The only reasonable alternative to caves and temples.]
no subject
Heh, yeah, bars it is.
[ He looked to him. ]
It would be nice. When's the last time we got a drink together anyways?
no subject
...At least not as recently as you and the doctor enjoyed my drink without me.
[You thought he didn't know about the whisky, didn't you.]
