[ He laughed, touching a red wine selection along with a call for water to get them started. ]
If there is something that shall be my undoing, making sure you have your fill of wine is one I am perfectly okay with.
[ A waiter appeared promptly and put down two glasses of water, then two taller glasses for the wine. It was 'red' in that it was a nearly rose red in color, bright and nearly fluorescent. The waiter popped the cork and poured each of them a glass before setting the bottle down and retreating. ]
I'm told this particular wine is rather sweet, with an undertone of bitter at the end. To be honest, it's not my forte.
no subject
[Fenris, of course, is mostly just happy to drink it. He chuckles softly. ]
If it is wine and it is drinkable, I'm perfectly content. Never been one for the snobbery that comes with it.
no subject
To a night out, free of snobbery, and filled with good wine and good company.
no subject
Something I can wholeheartedly agree with.
I- thank you. This is...nice.
no subject
You don't have to keep thanking me, Fenris.
[ He laughed softly, bringing up the menu again and choosing an appetizer for them with the flick of his finger. ]
Is a 'date' even something that exists in Thedas?
no subject
Yes, it exists in Thedas. I just not have had one happen to me before.
no subject
Ah, so I'm deflowering you, am I?
[ He grinned widely, knowing exactly the way he had phrased it and doing it quite on purpose. A waiter appeared and put down a basket of what appeared to be a thin, bread-like substance in rectangular shape and an array of dipping cups that ranged from clear like oil to thick and viscous like cheese and a small set of chopped plant life Kirk took to possibly be herbs. He picked one up, dipping into a creamier concoction and using a small spoon to dribble the herbs and took a bit. Hmm, savory. ]
no subject
[He lets out a soft chuckle, face flushing as he looks down and tries to concentrate on his food. Something that is considerably more difficult watching Kirk eat things with dripping on them. He picked this on purpose, the elf is certain.
He tries to focus on his own food, a smile crossing his lips. ]
Don't let it get to your head.
no subject
Me? Get a big head? Never.
[ The slight twist of his lips and the glitter in his eyes suggested there was definitely innuendo hidden there. ]
Got in mind what you want for the main course?
[ He glanced down at the menu again, not wanting to rush the other, though he did have a slightly ulterior motive, his eyes flicking to the open space a few tables over. ]
Though to be honest I have no idea what half of these things are, but I was told the gushla is a favorite of the regular patrons here.
no subject
[He'll see that glitter in your eyes and raise you a tiny smirk, Kirk. He can play the innuendo game, too. ]
I suppose that is as good as anything. Food is food, after all, and Maker knows I don't understand what half of it is. I'll trust your judgement on this one.
no subject
Well, you know, size isn't everything. It's all about how you use your head.
[ He ordered them two of the dish he had named and a dessert for later. The order put in and with time to spare, he suddenly stood and held out his hand to Fenris. His smile was soft now, even a little excited. ]
Now, while we wait for dinner, may I have this dance?
no subject
[He's surprised, though he realises now that this was why Kirk kept sneaking glances behind them. Of course. A smile comes creep across his face, though, standing and taking Kirk's offered hand. ]
You did not get your fill of dancing with me at the ball?
no subject
Oh, no. That only wet my appetite.
[ Gently his fingers curled around Fenris', as always careful not to make the other feel like he was trapped. The space had two other couples swaying, the remaining customers sometimes glancing at them but otherwise talking to themselves. Clearly it was not an unusual thing no matter the time of meal. The music was soft and slow, obviously meant to inspire intimacy in the couples. Kirk turned and wrapped his arm loosely around Fenris' waist, drawing him close as he had that night at the rockstar's palace. ]
Hope you don't mind me taking lead.
no subject
I don't mind. But I am still not much of a dancer, that much has not changed. You bring your trodden on feet on yourself.
no subject
I am sure you could help ease the ache later.
[ He bit his lip, almost seeming shy as he titled his head in to touch their foreheads - silver mixing with gold. His fingers spread across the small of Fenris' back, supporting even as he felt the strong muscle there. His thumb stroked back and forth, his fingers twining with Fenris' rather than gripping them. ]
Besides, I find it kinda charming.
no subject
[Nothing Kirk ever did was controlling. Everything was considerate for Fenris, for his past traumas. The elf wasn't sure he could ever truly voice how much that meant to him. To not be treated like a delicate thing, but to not be captured, either. It was a fine line to tread, and Kirk trod it well.
He smiles, green eyes looking into blue, teetering on the edge of something. ]
You do, do you?
no subject
Yeah, I do. I find it charming that you can be clumsy at this, and the way your lips curl when you're teasing someone, and the crease you get between your eyebrows when you're concentrating when you read.
[ He let out a soft puff of air, just barely a laugh as they swayed. ]
no subject
[More than Fenris truly realises- more still than he feels he truly deserves to have noticed. That someone should pay him so much attention, and catalogue it in their mind. No matter how better he gets, a small part of him will always feel himself unworthy of such things. But Kirk does it anyway, and is never afraid to voice them, to Fenris' eternal frustration and adoration.
His free hand moves to Kirk's cheek, thumb tracing his jawline. He seems to decide which way to go, on that edge of something. He leans up, having to stop swaying to gain some height, pressing his lips against Kirk's with no hesitation. ]
no subject
[ Ever so slightly his head leans into the touch of Fenris' thumb, watching him, realizing they had suddenly passed into uncharted territory with that single touch. That they stood together on a cliff's edge, holding on by the tips of their toes. Once they fell, he knew he couldn't go back.
Lips were on his, sweet and soft, and he fell into them with a sigh of relief. His hand pressed harder against Fenris' back, holding him closer into his chest as he opened his mouth, inviting him in, asking for more if he would give it. ]
no subject
He shifts closer, opening his own mouth, his tongue slipping across Kirk's lip before slipping into his mouth, deepening the kiss, happily giving more. ]
no subject
Slowly he pulled back, his lips tingling, panting despite the brevity and his heart beating a tattoo in his chest. ]
We'd better stop or else we'll never get through dinner.
[ Even so he kept him close, promising that even if they took a reprieve to eat this was not all they could experience that night. ]
no subject
...But he had meant it when he said he had never been treated to a date before, and a part of him was curious about what else there was. So, with a throaty chuckle, he steps back a little.]
Well, I wouldn't want to miss dinner.
no subject
We'll just have to make sure we take dessert to go.
no subject
Hmmm. [The sound thrums deep in his throat. ] We can save those for later.
no subject
Heh, that will require patience, you know. Waiting for later, that is.
[ He took up his wine glass and sipped, watching Fenris over the rim, his blue eyes darkened ever so slightly. ]
