It is not garish, it's just different. Embrace it!
[Stop being boring :| ]
I can hear the incredulous tone, you know. I might have actually found something fun for you, you might be surprised.
[Miracles can happen. They probably won't though, he's making a beeline for some shady looking building where people are handing out glowsticks. ]
no subject
I am trying.
[Desperately hard.]
All right, let's just see what you have.
[Miracles can do happen. He's just not sure they are happening here.]
no subject
Try harder.
[He'll hop over to the door, flashing one of the alien ladies a charming smile as he does so. He's absolutely picking up some glowsticks, which are a hundred times easier to work when you have actual fingers. ]
Look at these! They glow in the dark, they will be perfect.
[Lumière, YOU glow in the dark.]
no subject
What would you like me to do, wave my arms about in the air and give out a Whoop of delight?
[Which he then pantomimed exactly. See? At least he's having fun mocking you?]
...Lumiere. You realize that - never mind. Give me one.
[He's a candle how does he forget his head is a candle?]
no subject
If you could perhaps do it a litle less sarcastically, that would be fine.
[Because he has his mind on other things, wow, Cogsworth, wow. He hands his clock buddy one, slinging another round his neck...which instantly drapes around his arms because he's the wrong shape for this kind of thing.
He turns and grins at Cogsworth, there's a loud WUB WUB WUB coming from the building they're about to go in. ]
Are you ready for the time of your very boring life?
no subject
Impossible. I do everything sarcastically, you should know this by now.
[He manages to wiggle the light over his neck and takes a moment to knot one end so it will stay off, then sighs at Lumiere as he reaches over to tie it tighter around Lumiere's tiny brass shoulders.]
As soon as I keep you from tripping over your brightly colored glow stick ... yes, fine, all right.
no subject
[You are a good friend, Cogsworth, thank you for not leaving him to break his neck.
...Metaphorically, anyway. He flashes Cogsworth one of his winning smiles, and as soon as the job is done,
he is hopping off towards the rave. It's dark and loud and seedy, so of course Lumière loves it.]
Come on then! It's a party!
no subject
[Huffy huff. You're very welcome.
Beyond that, this smile is more than enough to have him hobbling off after Lumiere. Honestly, as soon as he is inside, beyond the Noise and the People ... it rather feels like home. Dark. Gloomy. There is even old red velvet everywhere.]
... what kind of party?
[It did rather remind him of court as well, well done Lumiere.]
no subject
They call is a rave! It is a very modern thing, apparently. Very lively, no?
no subject
Ah. Yes. If that is what passes for 'lively' around here ... why is it a rave? [He frowns as he looks around.] And what is that terrible noise?
no subject
[He turns to Cogsworth and grins. ]
It is music, Cogsworth! It has quite a beat, no?
no subject
[Cogsworth moves his little wooden legs to one of the older dances, and frowns.]
Are you certain? You cannot dance to it. I mean - it does have a very good beat. Just ... not one you could revielle to.
no subject
[Just enjoy yourself for once, Cogsworth, jeez. Lumiere laughs at that ridiculous notion, and of course decides to prove Cogsworth wrong by doing just that.
...Or the closest approximation to dancing he can manage on a single not-even-a-leg. He bounces a circle around Cogsworth, then bounces off him. Look, you can't really do a hip-bump when you don't have hips, he's trying okay.]
Just let the music move you. Loosen up for a change!
no subject
Right now he's practically being a wanton.
He let out a Long Put Upon Sigh, wrinkled his Adorable Nose, and started wiggling his little wooden legs along with what he assumed was one of the beats of the music. That added in a little wooden hip shimmy.
But he does start to get into it, because, well. He has always loved dancing.]
no subject
He laughs happily, because this is fun and he finally got Cogsworth to have fun. That, in of itself, is a miracle as far as he's concerned. He dances pretty well for someone without any real discernible legs. Years of practise. ]
See? This is fun, no?
no subject
He does get a little grin from Cogsworth, as he dipped from side to side, on all of his little wooden legs. Because well look at that, they're dancing together.]
Yes ... it is rather ... amusing, is it not?
no subject
There you go! Even you can let lose once in a while, mon ami. You'll feel better for it.
no subject
Yes this is ... quite pleasant!
[And tiring.]
no subject
See? Don't you feel better for unwinding a little?
[Yes. The clock pun was absolutely deliberate. ]
no subject
Oh har dee har har.
[Still, through the smirk is still the smile.]
no subject
Still, I will keep my promise. You can choose the next thing we do, and I will endure it. Even if it's boring.
[He would bet a month's ratings that it would be. ]
no subject
Anything? Even if you find it as interesting as watching paint dry?
no subject
currently non-existent heart with his contently non-existent hand. ]
Anything. With minimal complaining.
[Which is not to say there won't be any AT ALL. He's not that charitable. ]
