[ All the more reason she would be besties with Lumiere's friend, she thinks. ]
But there are so many people - and you'd never get to talk to them all! It's completely exhausting sometimes. I'd much rather have a cup of tea and a good book.

[Belle would love her. So much. ]
Cogsworth would probably agree with you. But me? This is what I live for.
[He's missed it. So much. Just living. ]
no subject
[ Which sounds impossible, but it means she gets to read and learn constantly. ]
... Cogsworth? Is he a friend of yours - someone from home?
no subject
[Seriously, she and Belle would lock themselves in the library and no one would see them ever again. ]
Oui. He is the head of of the household- important job. [His tone is a little dismissive, clearly Lumière doesn't think it's that important. ] He is on the Fleet, currently- a mantel clock. You cannot miss him.
no subject
[ A woman not used to her friends understanding her love of books. ]
It sounds very important. [ And she is doing her best to be serious! ] Oh, so - he's cursed too? Have you come any closer to finding a cure?
no subject
[Not so much him, but hey, he'll love and support you anyway. ]
He is. And we have come close. Khagdar seems to think he may be able to brew a potion. [And here, he gives a little frown. ] Unfortunately, he might need to test it, and I would rather not risk us- um ceasing.
[He can't really call it 'dying', they're not strictly alive. What can happen feels much worse. ]
no subject
[ Still, the offer of a potion makes her frown and she turns her attention back to him, suddenly far more serious. ]
Then you're not going to test it, obviously. That's not how it works - you don't just... Test on people with a risk of death. There's no coming back from that, right?
no subject
[He looks considerably happier that this is her reaction. Relieved, almost. ]
Thank you. Cosgworth was all for just running headlong into being a test subject for him. It took a lot of convincing to sway him from that. I want this curse lifted more than anything, but it is not worth risking our lives for.
no subject
No. There's no point knowing that you can free yourself from the curse if you have to die to do it. What's the point of that? There has to be another way.
no subject
[Lumière is usually all for barrelling headlong into anything without thinking for a second. But not for this. This time, they need to use their heads. ]

Most of us would wish that, ma cherie. I know I have some select words for her.
