Both. I am a Master of my craft, after all. Drunk or sober, I can sing. But I don't need to drink to steady my nerves, if that's what you're asking!

It's called karaoke. You sing well known songs - so yeah, it is a kind of contest. But I suppose if you just make up words to the tune they might not mind either. Won't know until you sing!

Honestly? No. But karaoke puts the words up for you! So you just have to sign them along with the tune, which I doubt will be a problem for you.
