Max blinks her direction.

"To strike?"

He wonders if they've been cooking something up for a while, or if it's a recent thought.

Furiosa looks back at him as if he should know better. "You can't expect me to be complacent." Quietly waiting, yes. Maybe some people would consider it the same thing. Her time in the Citadel had built in her a tremendous sense of patience. As she rolls the dolly into the main hangar she looks back at him, brow slightly furrowed.

"We're still captives here." Has he been getting complacent?

"Never said we weren't," he says. "Just moving conversation."

He glances back, expression smoothed.

"Once the Atroma are killed, the place'd be decent for people to stay."

He doesn't particularly specify if that includes him, now does he.

"Yeah." She goes back to pushing the dolly towards the main storage transfer. She caught his omission, know what it means, and finds herself feeling sour at the thought. She knew him, though; she knew he was eager to get out on his own and alone and leave everything about this place far far away, but something has changed. She's not as capable of swallowing that truth as she once was. "We've already passed a lot of good planets. Probably many more out there."

"Hmm," he hums softly, and glances her direction. "Wasn't really considering planets. More..."

He stops, feeling foolish; it's really just... not like him. To be stationary. But he's not really stationary here, is he? He's moving from place to place -- world to world, and he's coping with it, and none of it makes sense to him. It's like he'd told Peggy; he's not fit to survive properly in the wastelands anymore, not the way he'd done before.

"Traveling like this - it's not so bad."

"No, it hasn't been." She rolls the dolly back towards the storage room and parks it, then goes to transfer the crates to their appropriate stalls, using a scanner to mark them in. She has to pause, though, because it gets her thinking.

"I didn't think it'd be my life, traveling." For the longest time it had been the Green Place, or just the thought of it, that she considered home, that she strove to get to, and after the events with Max and the Wives, she had settled into the thought as Citadel as home; that's where she was needed.

She didn't really have that, here. No sense of home. Did Max really need her? Did anyone? If they really were able to overthrow and escape from Atroma, at this moment she's realizing she would have all the opportunities open to her and no idea which to take. She wasn't a loner like Max, not exactly.

"Neither did I," he says -- and stops himself, but... uneasily relents. "Think I'd be traveling."

He shrugs, though, trying to focus on... anything but the reason why he'd started running in the first place. Looking at Furiosa -- it's not exactly the worst thing, the thought of wandering with her and the people he'd come to enjoy the company of. And how mind-meltingly terrifying is that? Nothing puts ice in his gut like the thought of caring about people and staying close to them. Again. The first time was enough, was torture in the end.

And yet here he is.

"... Good to travel with people I, mmm... like... now, at least."
