It's all over but the crying
(Video – Fleetwide)
My god, it’s full of stars.
[He wandered around the ship in a bit of a daze. First came the larger ship, then the small celebration welcoming him to the second, and he is just as confused as he was when he first woke up. It’s been a long couple of days for him and he finds his way to the bridge of the ship. Stars. So many stars, He slumps in one of the many chairs nearest the window looking out onto space. There’s a cup of tea in his hand and his head turns between the feed he managed to open and the view.]
It’s a dream, isn’t it? It has to be. I remember what happened.
[He’s still dressed in his leathers, not quite trusting himself to wear the ship standards just yet. It’s so clinical. So real… He curls up more in the chair, lifting his mask a little out of the way to have a sip.]
This ship is called Bishop. Like the clergymen and the chess piece. If…anyone is out there, where is here?
(Action – Bishop)
[Still on the bridge of the ship, Mantis decides to make use of the music system to play something classical in the hopes of soothing some of his confusion. The tea doesn’t hurt either, and he sighs heavily as he tries to count the stars he can see. His malaise is such that someone could reasonably sneak up on him if they were so inclined. He is making good company with the chair he singled out.]

I'm up to five people I met only today. I might try and make a list of all the people I meet and the ships they come from.
I think a lot of people here unused to space travel would consider this well and out of their league.

Fair enough! I can't say I dislike it for what it is, but I definitely prefer my feet on the ground. Not that I mind a chopper or a jet.

I've seen faces like that used before. You are familiar with travelling by flight?
no subject
Yeah. I can pilot both, as well. Space travel is more of a minor exploration where I'm from. Not really something like this or viable to live in.

Are you from Earth as well?
no subject
I'm American, but settled in Canada when I'm not traveling.

What do you mean by "same" Earth? There's only one of those. [Right?]

I think so. I'm not sure, might just be that it's a universal name for similar planets, but I've met people from earth who don't know of things that occur worldwide that are common where I'm from. Not sure if it means different or what exactly.

It sounds very impossible, but I suppose anything is considering the turn my life seems to have taken. On my Earth, we had a warlord who tried to build an independent military force twice before he was cut down for good. He was known as Big Boss.

If that's a big thing where you're from, I guess you can already tell where I'm coming from about it being odd.

Believe so. Think the only crewmate I have a substantial relationship with is from a similar but different planet, as well. Still earth, lot of things we both know about, but a lot of differences.
Sketchy, huh.

Basic history, continents and countries... Those kinds of things would have to remain consistent.

It seems to be the case, though. A lot of similarities. Deviations, maybe. I don't know a lot about quantum physics, just what I've heard a co-worker ramble about at lightning speed.

In fact, I don't think I've ever heard it brought up outside of talking about it for the sake of talking about it. Can't say I have any experience with alternate realities and space travel, though, so it could be that I just don't float around in the right circles.
