It's all over but the crying

Who: Psycho Mantis and you.
Broadcast: Yes
Action: SS Bishop
When: Today

(Video – Fleetwide)

My god, it’s full of stars.

[He wandered around the ship in a bit of a daze. First came the larger ship, then the small celebration welcoming him to the second, and he is just as confused as he was when he first woke up. It’s been a long couple of days for him and he finds his way to the bridge of the ship. Stars. So many stars, He slumps in one of the many chairs nearest the window looking out onto space. There’s a cup of tea in his hand and his head turns between the feed he managed to open and the view.]

It’s a dream, isn’t it? It has to be. I remember what happened.

[He’s still dressed in his leathers, not quite trusting himself to wear the ship standards just yet. It’s so clinical. So real… He curls up more in the chair, lifting his mask a little out of the way to have a sip.]

This ship is called Bishop. Like the clergymen and the chess piece. If…anyone is out there, where is here?

(Action – Bishop)

[Still on the bridge of the ship, Mantis decides to make use of the music system to play something classical in the hopes of soothing some of his confusion. The tea doesn’t hurt either, and he sighs heavily as he tries to count the stars he can see. His malaise is such that someone could reasonably sneak up on him if they were so inclined. He is making good company with the chair he singled out.]

Well, add Jill Valentine to your list. :)

Fair enough! I can't say I dislike it for what it is, but I definitely prefer my feet on the ground. Not that I mind a chopper or a jet.

Got it!

Yeah. I can pilot both, as well. Space travel is more of a minor exploration where I'm from. Not really something like this or viable to live in.

Pretty much the same thing, here. Well, I guess it's "there," unfortunately. This sort of thing we're experiencing now is pretty much limited to fiction where I'm from.

I prefer my Kubrick on the big screen, but nothing that can really be done about that now.

Hm. I am and it might very well be possible that we're from the "same" earth in that case.

I'm American, but settled in Canada when I'm not traveling.

About the same in that respect, I guess. I'm always out on a mission and when I'm not, it's just a few minutes at HQ before being carted off again on a chopper.

I think so. I'm not sure, might just be that it's a universal name for similar planets, but I've met people from earth who don't know of things that occur worldwide that are common where I'm from. Not sure if it means different or what exactly.

I'm not familiar with that and I'm pretty familiar with that sort of thing. I with the BSAA and formerly with the United States army. Did some mercenary work here and there. Gotten used to explaining the BSAA since I've come here, but we're relatively well-known considering we're a worldwide organization alongside TerraSave.

If that's a big thing where you're from, I guess you can already tell where I'm coming from about it being odd.

See? There's my point. I guess by all means it should bother me more than it does, but I also figure there's not many (if any) answers to be had so I'm trying not to stress on it.

Believe so. Think the only crewmate I have a substantial relationship with is from a similar but different planet, as well. Still earth, lot of things we both know about, but a lot of differences.

Sketchy, huh.

Strange to think about, isn't it. Especially when you consider some similarities like film directors or space travel.

It seems to be the case, though. A lot of similarities. Deviations, maybe. I don't know a lot about quantum physics, just what I've heard a co-worker ramble about at lightning speed.

I've never heard it being brought up in anything but theory and of alternate realities, so that's pretty strange.

In fact, I don't think I've ever heard it brought up outside of talking about it for the sake of talking about it. Can't say I have any experience with alternate realities and space travel, though, so it could be that I just don't float around in the right circles.
