(Trimming hair is easier said than done, but the tall Elf has done an...admirable...job? Shhh don't tell him it's uneven in parts. He sets down a pair of scissors and cocks his head, peering at himself in a mirror.)

I must have been...angled...incorrectly. (His left hand doesn't quite smack his face, but it does try to cover it as his ears go red.)

It was getting too long, you see. I became tangled in it every morn and the brushing of it was a painful business.

(Clearly annoyed, he grabs a brush, sets about smoothing it and puts it all in a ponytail. Some of the strands are rebellious, however, and fall out of the ribbon to frame his face. The tickling sensation annoys him more and he tries to tuck them, instead, behind his ears. His mangled ear doesn't make a proper perch for the copper strands and some of them fall right back where they started.)

(He nods and ends the feed, leaving his room and taking a shuttle to the Iskaulit. Once aboard, he strides quickly to the garden and finds Maglor.)

Mm. [ Maglor looks up at his brother and reaches up to tug him down beside him ]

(There is little resistance - only enough so he doesn't topple on top of Maglor as he sits.)

I knew he would. (He wraps an arm around him.) Why are you so sad, brother?

[ Maglor curls into his side ]

I just... I feel that I should have been paying more attention to your needs, Nelyo. I always seem to miss it, when you really need me.

(Maedhros kisses his cheek gently, carefully.)

I did not know hair was a great need? It grows or it does not. My current situation is my doing.

It just... feels like I'm doing something wrong.

[ Maglor accepts the comfort, but he still looks miserable ]

As if I'm failing to notice you.

(He shrugs off his coat and wraps it around his brother's shoulders.)

I would be the one to tell you so! I need your attention daily, though, I am glad to say, not hourly.

[ Maglor smiles up at him and leans against him, finally relaxing and starting to hum softly ]

(Maedhros nuzzles his cheek against Maglor's hair, voice lowering a notch:)

I worry whether it is called for or not. You are precious to me.

[ That garners another smile, Maglor humming happily at the affection ]

As you are to me. Can I try and make something for your hair? I can't manage the delicate work any more, but I was thinking maybe a silver fillet?

(Maedhros touches one of Maglor's hands.)

Anything wrought by these hands will bring me joy. But do not push yourself. I only need you to feel at peace.

[bythewaves]

[ His fingers shyly curl around Maedhros' ]

They won't be as nice as what I used to make.

(He brings Maglor's hand to his chest.)

That does not matter to me. Would it matter to you if I made you a gift?

I suppose not. [ His fingers curl shyly ]

But you deserve my best work, and I am long past that. [ He pauses consideringly ] Although... I suppose I could try and sing the metal... I've never tried that before...

(He smoothes his thumb over the callused fingers.)

Kano... (He gives him a small frown.) I do not deserve you; you are the best. Anything you make is precious to me.

(But he can't help being curious.) I can see no danger in trying?

[ Maglor ducks, shyly ]

[ He shrugs ]

I've never tried it, but... I mean the theory is straightforward enough? I'm no Celebrimbor though!

I am only your brother and your friend. (He kisses his knuckles.) I would like to see you try if you do not mind the company?

Celebrimbor is no Bard, either.

[ Maglor smiles back at him ]

[ His eyes cross at the tap ]
